Furry Thankful Bibi is Coming Home

Just a few days ago Miss Peach helped me write a blog post about Giselle and her kittens, and especially about the loss of Bibi, my mother's long time companion.

More than enough money came in to help Bibi come home, thru Facebook funding and Paypal - most of it thru Paypal, thankfully since Paypal sends funds immediately whereas Facebook may take weeks to receive.

I am overwhelmed because not only did we need funds for Bibi's urn but I lost two days this week looking after Mom - we needed more than just for Bibi's homecoming.

Thank you all my dear friends from the depths of my heart. Bibi was very special. We don't know what her life was like for her first three years, save she was left behind when a family moved out of my neighborhood.

One Friday in 2004, sometime in March or April, Bibi showed up in my back yard, eating some cat food I had left out for another abandoned kitty. I sat down on the porch and she crawled into my lap. Her tummy was plump. Was she pregnant? She stayed in my lap for a long time as I wondered about where this sweet kitty came from. Finally I picked her up as she protested and carried her into my garage where I sat her down. She hated being picked up! For days I tried finding where she came from. I tried bringing her with me from house to house. She refused to go back outside!! Scared to death of being abandoned again.

The only thing I found out was that a neighbor a block away had been feeding her. I told Mom about her and she hoped that this cat would be a good replacement for Kitty who had passed away in January on the anniversary of my brother's tragic death. She stayed in my bedroom for several days while I made sure she wasn't pregnant. In fact we found a small tattoo, indicating she was fixed. (Vet confirmed this on her first checkup.)

Finally my stepfather came and picked her up to take her home. The moment she saw my mother, she claimed one of the pillows on her bed! From that moment on, she was Mom's Bibi or was Mom Bibi's big baby? After my stepfather passed away in 2006, every night Bibi made sure Her big human baby was tucked in and going to sleep before Bibi went night night in the other bedroom. Bibi called Mom "mah" and she would always say "mah" to let Mom know she was going into the other room.

Bibi was funny about toys too. Either she played with the feather toy if Mom played or she took her stuffed toys and placed them in specific hiding places, but never played with them. If anyone moved her toy, she got upset and put them back. We think that Bibi may have had kittens before she was fixed and perhaps they were taken away from her too soon.

Thank you all from Angel Bibi and Mom for Helping with getting our sweet Bibi's urn. Although Mom stayed at home and could not go to the vets with me because of tummy flu, at the moment that Bibi went over the Rainbow Bridge at the vets, Mom heard Bibi say "Mah." Bibi told Mom that I am just going into another room - I will see you again...

that we take refuge in the shadow of your wings. -Psalm 36:6-7

The Goods, The Sads and The Mew Purrz

Katiez Katz haz lots of Mewz to share today... First

With great sadness we must share four beloved kitties have gone over the Rainbow Bridge: Miles Meezer, Milita of Fur Everywhere, Bionic Basil and Sister Precious of Brian's Home... Please visit their blogs if you haven't done so yet and send purrz and hugz to their paw parents...

Beautiful babies gone home...

We must also share that a left behind kitty named Mustachio that Auntie Silvia was looking after was sick and we didn't know the cause nor have the funds to treat him. Auntie Silvia and Katie Mom took him to Veterinary Emergency Clinic ER fur surrender, hoping he would get treated and possibly be picked up by rescue after going to the shelter... Instead he was discarded and PTS - no treatment or tests, no records made, nothing done to see if he had an incurable disease or could have been saved. Like he didn't even matter, he wasn't worth their effort... We don't have better photo of him... we believe he was left behind when an elderly lady who fed outdoor cats went to nursing home.

Mustacchio
(I started writing this blog post last week and just stopped here - everything was just too sad. Will try to finish today - Thursday September 20th after Yom Kippur. -Katie the Mom)

Chiqui is doing much better
Howsumever, we haz good mewz to share too. After several weeks on prednisilone, Chiquita's rash is gone, except for a small sore by her ear... yet since we don't know what caused the rash, the Mom will have to watch watch her as the meds are tapered down... we still have almost four hundred dollars to pay back on Care Credit. We are trying a food with a single source protein, but she doesn't really like it that well and it is expensive.

Katie Kat and her Kittens

And other good mewz: Mom drove the kitty mama that belonged to a scrapping friend, Katie Kat and her five kittens to Cattails Rescue in Manhattan Kansas on September 7th where they all got fixed and will finds furever homes!
Handsome Lil Isaac on way to Rescue

Here am little Isaac (Joy is behind him) in the carrier on the way to Manhattan. Mom Katie was in her own carrier and then Adam, Joshua and Caleb were in another carrier. We had to buy new carriers to take kitties to Manhattan cause Cattails needed the carriers and we will exchange them next time we go back... cause guess what?
3 day old kittens on porch

Katie Mom and Uncle Mike helped a motel owner friend of ours catch his kitty, a mew Mommy of four kittens two days after Labor Day... Tuesday after Labor Day lots of raining. To keep them safe, the pretty girl left her four 3-day old kittens on the back porch. That's when the motel owner found out his cat had kittens! Auntie Silvia called the Mom Tuesday night. Katie Mom and Uncle Mike tried to get Mommy to go into a kennel cage where they had placed her kittens, but she wouldn't go in... So next day Wednesday, Katie Mom finally caught her but to do so Mom had to leave work (lost 55 dollars we really needed). The motel owner asked us to look after her and the kittens, since he wasn't able to.

Kitty Mom's name am Giselle now. Her am grey tortie and haz 3 boys and 1 girl kitten. Boyz = Cheddar - bright orange, Colby (small tan boy under Giselle's hind leg), Pepper Jack dark tabby and pretty Heather am grey tabby girl.

Giselle and her mew kittens
Giselle and her babies are hanging out in a big kennel suite fur now...

======================================
First visit about cyst our Vet

10 year old Maxwell has been to the vet twice... once in July to check an abscess on his shoulder - appears to be a cyst of some sort. May need surgery to take off.... the second time was to ER on Sunday when he would not stop sneezing from a possible allergy and his ears were red. No charge at the ER because the vet was busy and only saw the vet tech.

Max's Second visit to ER Allergies?

The vet suggested Clemastine, but we could not get that so we been giving Max chlortabs. The chlortabs made him sleepy so Uncle Mike and Katie Mom stopped giving him that. He does seem some better and not sneezing. We will keeps you up to date on Max.. He has also lost weight.

And two more fings before we go today cause Mom has to go to works in fifteen minutes and stuff... Mom was in a car accident a month ago and caused by the other driver and their insurance American Family has still not helped do anything about the totaled car. more about that later. we are thankful that Mom's injuries are getting taken care of by a lawyer..

Jade the Mew 6-8wk old kitten with CH

And yesfurday the Mom saw an almost 2 month old kitten named Jade whose mommy belongs to the Tractor Supply where we gets our litter... underweight only one pound and ate lots and lots in two days!
Her may has mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia. We am thankful that Mom was asked to kitty sit Jade cause Mom knows what symptoms are fur CH. Jade's head trembles when her tries to hold it steady and her little legs tremor. She wobbles when she walks. Sometimes her hind legs go backwards before going forward. More stuffs furry soon... to be continued.

Thankful For Kitties Saved and Kitties Loved

Hiya evfurryone... furst of all this am Katie Kitty Too.
I had my Gotcha Day last month. I am 14 years young and Mom had her birthday ten days ago...and her am a gazillion years old now.

Well the Mom am bin tired from working hard to help us kitties - so her skipped having a blog pawty fur herself... and we forgotted to post on Valentines!

Before the Mom goes back to working hard scrapping metal to help us kitties, we haz some thankful things to share:

Orange Boy who is about a year old is one of the kitties
rescued from a motel parking lot several weeks ago. Last Friday, he went to Cattails Manhattan, Kansas to find hims furever home.  Sweet boy went fur a vet checkup last Wednesday - he lost sight in his left eye from an injury when he was only six or seven months old.  He gained weight since his rescue - yay!

And he gotted some worm meds so hims stool am much better. Although he was furry patient with the vet and the assistant, we weren't able to test him fur FIV/FLV yet because him is a big boy who not likes needles to steel hims bloods! Hopefully, Cattails will be able to test him furry soon...

One of our other rescues from the motel parking lot, Molly One (Chiquita's mommy) - had two beautiful kittens last night or early this morning. Mom checked on her this morning and her was nursing two wiggly babies. Her am protective of them so this photo am a bit dark...

Please keep Molly One and her babies in your purrz. One of the babies is black and white, the other is purry dark tabby and hard to see in the photo.

And lastly - we wants to honor our furry blogging friend, Brian's Home - Sister Kit went over the bridge last week. Furry sads - yet we are joyfully thankful that Sister Kit had a wonderful long life with her sisters and brother Brian, with one of the bestest families on the internets. Run and play like a kitten again Dear Sister Kit with Sister Sascha, until we see you again.
