Lots of Kitty Mewz and Purrz

Hiya evfurry one, Angel here with my under the coat selfie (yes this my coat to cuddle in, Katie Mom gotted it fur free fur us kitties to snuggle on).

We haz bin taking long naps and needs to catch you ups on the latest fings happening in April!!

Furst, the kittens are growing bigger and are over two months old. Bobby will be going to hims mew home furry soon and hims broffur and sisfur will be going to a furry goods rescue who has lots of good cats who loves kittens so they can haz a good role model dats dehr are good humans that loves them...  cause dehr Mom Molly am a scaredy girl around Katie Mom... 

Bobby will has mew big brothers to play wifs too...   

Mitchel as kitten.

Like Mitchel, a kitty dats Mom helped rescue a few years ago. Mitchel am grown up now... and need mew brother to play with

Katie Mom met furry interesting kitties lately while picking up metal stuff fur raising money fur us.

Dis Orange kitty am Roo.  He am a service cat and a dwarf Maine Coon. He was born with shorter front legs and a curved spine. He wasn't supposed to live and was going to be PTS - can you imagine that!?!?  He am the bestest kitty and helps Daddy by telling him when he am going to haz bad headaches by putting toys in Daddy's shoes!! He tell Daddy you can't go out today, you am need to rest... and he help Daddy stay focused too. What a good boy!! Roo love Daddy and guard him alla time.

And this am Billy - he am a silver Bengal dat was left behind. Billy found a human to look after him when he was kitten and furry sick with infected eyes. Now Billy am healthy and loved, yet lost some sight in one eye. Him human hope to find Billy a real home though... cause indoor kitties don't get along with him.

And more fings to purr about... several kitties went to vets this month...

Guero and Mama Narcisca both need purrz. Guero had PU surgery few years ago to help him go potty. Sometimes him gets a UTI. Mama Narcisca am having trouble wanting to eats and getting constipated.  They both seen the doctor last week. Guero had a shot to helps him feel better, but may still need antibiotics.

Narcisca had bloodwork done - all am normal range - her needs purrz to help her appetite.




And yesfurday, Chiquita jumped out of Mom's sock drawer too fast and hurted her right hind leg. Katie Mom and Uncle Mike went to the vets and had her leg checked out. Chiquita let Dr. J check her leg and him say not swollen...

but Chiquita am afraid to put weight on it and am hobbling around the house, so her am taking pain meds. If her keeps limping then will has to get x-ray. Chiquita was furry goods at vet and looked at Katie Mom to know dat everything okay. Dr. J like Chiquita furry much and hope her leg be better soon.

Last Caturday Art and Purrz for the Mew Year

Auntie Silvia and her fur family, including Guero and Natasha want to wish you a Happy Mew Year...

Silvia and her kitties have been in the cold for almost a whole week with the heater in the motel room not working. Three cats have been sick because of the cold... sniffing, runny eyes, won't eat. Natasha has been wheezing.  Been 30 degrees in their room.

Today a heater was found -  Money had to be borrowed - hundred dollars...

Please pray this heater keeps everyone warm, that the sick kitties get better and that Katie Mom and Auntie Silvia can get the outdoor kitties, Chica and Chico caught so they can be warm too. We are purring to pay back money owed asap and that there will be enough funds for vet visits in the Mew Year...next week.

Mew Updates Jeremiah Opurrashun and Road Trip

We are furry thankful fur all our friends... at Christmas and Hanukkah.

Hello, dis am Bootsie and Today Me help with the blogging by sitting in Mom's lap and purring my wittle heart out. I loves my Katie Mom. I am ten years old and my Gotcha day was in Novembur 2007 when I was just 3 months old Bootsie's Furry Furst Foto

We haz been furry behinds in visiting all our friends and it shows in our comments dats hardly anybuddy's come by... we are furry sads about that.  We hopes to gets more visiting done on Friday night dats when Mom likes to rest from a long week of working to raise moneys for us kitties and our Mommies.

Howsumebbers we haz mewz to share. Although Silvia's Guero am doing better, Ronnie still had upset tummy again yesterday.  Still throwing up yesfurday - early this morning though he finally had a good poo in the litter box and nuffin runny. We will finds out today if he is keeping his food down. He may need xrays to check his tummy - no diarrhea am a good sign though. we will lets you know if Ronnies needs to go backs to the vet... plz keeps him in your purrz.



And Jeremiah Midnight, aka JayMee am going to a wonderful friend in Manhattan, Kansas in the morning - First him will be getting his gentlemen opurrayshun and then our dear friend will help him find his furever home, hopefully in time fur Christmas!

Mom am furry nervous about leaving him, yet we trust our friend who am furry goods at playing kitty matchmaker and finding the bestest home! She gets to take them to Petco where kitties can visit with potential families. And the Mew family will get a fact sheet about JayMee and our phone number to ask any questions. I sure hope they send us mew photos too!

We would likes your purrz and prayers fur JayMee on hims journey to loves to finds hims forever family.

We are so thankful that money came in to help Guero and Ronnie to see the vet Tuesday too. We will still need to pay the motel owner and to raise funds for Silvia and her kitties to find a real place to rent. In our town, if you lives in a motel food banks won't give you any food! Even if you have lived in the motel for many years and can verify that.  All folks needs to eats! Well Kansas has some furry bad rules, likes you can TNR feral kitties but if you get caught feeding them, you go to jail... Dats am so messed up. An elderly couple in another town went to jail even though all their kitties were fixed and the kitties were trapped and put to sleep - so very sad and wrong... so wrong.  


Anyways, our other kitty, Betty Lou who needs a furever home may go up with JayMee to finds her furevers - will let you know.

Guero and Ronnie - Thank You For Praying

Thank you so much for your purrz and prayers for Guero on Monday....

Because or your support, both Guero and his brother Ronnie were able to go to the vet Tuesday morning...

Guero had UTI and could not keep anything down - with diarrhea over the weekend...

And Ronnie was really sick too with upset stomach and fever - They are both doing much better this morning... Thanks to their vet visits.  And Guero has taken a liking to strawberry yogurt!

Turned out Mischievous Ronnie found something to bite into (Clear Eyes) - naughty boy. Silvia does her best to keep things from him and he hasn't gotten into anything in long time, but he is good at opening cabinets... He was still having hard time last night throwing up on empty stomach and curled up in a ball. Doctor had given him a combo shot of antibiotic and steroid yesterday morning.  Yesterday Evening Ronnie got a pill to reduce the stomach cramps.  Late into the night, he nibbled on some favorite food and kept it down!

Over the weekend Silvia took Guero to the ER and had to borrow funds from the motel owner - who still needs to be paid, about 400.00 dollars. She is working it off by cleaning rooms, but he only takes off about ten dollars a day - Silvia can't find a new place next year or look for real work until the motel owner is paid off.  If you can help Silvia and her cats - We are praying for work in the new year - economy is slowly getting better here in Wichita - going to take time - and costs double just to move into somewhere else.

We have been scrapping metal to raise funds, but have not been able to get enough in to save funds to move out of the motel, to pay the motel owner or cover other debts... And another environment with a real home would be so much better for Silvia and her babies, Mama Narcisca, Gordo, Guero, Ronnie and Sister Natasha. A real home would make it so much easier to keep the babies safe and things away from naughty Ronnie.

We still need to catch at least one more outdoor kitty at the motel. Her name is Chica and she hangs out on the window ledge or Silvia's room.  Her brother Chico may be harder to catch.  Chica is getting to where she lets Silvia touch her and pick her up.  

We are going to keep the You Caring fund up for Guero for now and add updates - Silvia and her babies have come so far - they don't want to give up now and wind up homeless .... Seriously if we can't move forward - all there is backwards - Silvia has no family - they have rejected this beautiful caring woman with such a caring heart and I will never understand why.

Guero am Furry Sick, can you help?

Hiya Furry Friends... This am Chiquita repurrting today.

Please forgive us for being so behind in visiting..  The Mom am likes a one pawson show - and we didn't gets to blog over the weekend.

Poor Guero, one of Auntie Silvia's cats is furry sick with UTI

I loves Auntie Silvia, she saved me and helped get me to lives with Katie the Mom.. Auntie Silvia helped Save Jeremiah Midnight too.  

Please help Guero... Auntie Silvia goes thru so much to looks after kitties and save their lives. She will do anything to helps us and I mean anything....Furry hard but she loves us soo much.

Guero is sick with UTI and also getting anemic. He has been throwing up and diarrhea. All he has kept down in over two days is a little bit of yogurt last night. 

Guero was saved through a You Caring campaign almost two years ago to get his life saving surgery to remove his urethra. He needs seen as soon as possible...

His Mom Silvia already borrowed money to take him to ER, He got fluids and Meloxicam which didn't help. Still throwing up and having loose stool. Silvia tried to tell the ER doctor what her vet uses and always works, but this guy was rude and said, are you the vet?? And all she was sharing was from another vet!!!!

Guero isn't better. Still throwing up and having loose stool. They gave him nothing for his UTI.  Doesn't make sense. 

Now she has to pay ER visit back by cleaning smoky rooms at motel. She can't borrow any more. Still no money to take him to vet for antibiotic shot or a shot to stop the diarrhea.  Please any amount will make sure he gets to the vet this week. (Guero can't take pills or liquid - he will throw it up.)

Just Cause You hazn't seen us lately

We wanted to let you know dat right after Easter and Passover, Microsoft updated Auntie Katie's Laptop (Windows 10 on old equipment) and dey messed it all ups (driver for the network card).

Auntie Katie could not get online no mores with her puter...

So her sold a fridge and traded her old laptop and some greenies fur another one (running Windows 7).
 
Now we am thankful we can blog agins.

Hiya, this am Ronnie.

We am purrtee goods, save Guero had the battle of the runs recently, but him finally won... Guero am gaining some weight.

Natasha am bin hacking and needs an inhaler thingy to help her take her meds. Please keeps me in your purrz dats be long times afore need surgery to help me go potty... same surgery that my brothers Guero and Gordo had.

Right now I am taking L-Methionine and D-Mannose... but those supplements are only delaying the pawsibility. Mama Silvia and Auntie Katie are trying to put money aside fur when I may needs dat surgery. We Could use your helps to haz money puts aside - cause when Gordo needed hims surgery, we was lucky to haz 300.00 to cover the emergency surgery (600.00 plus total). Saturday Free Vet Clinic Day Selfies

Check In: Silvia with Mama Cat and Four kids

The all day SCART event took place on Saturday, March 11 at Wichita's Interfaith Ministries with a makeshift clinic set up in their basement.

SCART in cooperation with Inter-Faith Ministries hosted the bi-annual pet wellness clinic event, which also function as practice drills for animal response volunteers while offering free pet wellness exams, vaccinations and city license information for pets whose owners are experiencing or have recently experienced homelessness or poverty.  

Exams were provided by Skaer Veterinary Clinic and services were free of charge.  Information about no cost spay and neuter options was also available. The event was limited to dogs and cats. Proof of low income was required, by appointment only set up several months ago.


Cold day yesterday. Mostly dog owners came to event. The outdoor receiving and registration area was cordoned off to help keep loose doggies from running away.  All the tables were covered by canopies.

Silvia's four kids are seven years old. Mama Cat is about eight.

After filling out paperwork for each kitty, carriers were tagged to correspond with each kitty's paperwork. Then Silvia, a volunteer and I carried the carriers over to a covered semi-circle waiting area of chairs covered by a large canopy before going in the building.

The Cat exam room was actually the women's restroom.  

Natasha was first to be seen. She watched Mama Silvia a lot to know what to do. She was very good and wasn't scared. Every kitty had their teeth checked, bladder and abdomen checked, overall health. Then received distemper and rabies shots, and topicals for deworming and fleas. 

Guero, who had been having diarrhea problems this last week, was thankfully well enough now to get his vaccinations. Dr. Christen Skaer checked both Guero and Gordo's surgeries. Gordo PU surgery, only a few weeks ago, was healing well. (PU = perineal urethrostomy).

Sometimes Mama Narcisca gets a brown discharge. Silvia asked Dr. Skaer about that and she suggested that Mama be checked for crystal problems in her urine since two of her boys had to have PU surgery for crystal blockage. 
 
Two of the flea products they had on hand were Frontline or Cheristin. Had not heard of Cheristin before. (Cheristin FAQs) Cheristin is apparently safer for young cats and kittens. (FAQ page states, "Low-volume dose is effective for all cats 1.8 pounds or greater")

After examinations, Kitties were checked out at the "Reclaim" Table. Silvia was told by Dr. Skaer and SCART that if any kitty seemed to be having a reaction, take to ER to be checked and treated and treatment would be paid for.  Every kitty received paperwork and a rabies tag in an envelope.
 
Review of the event: 
One little dog got loose and happily ran around excited. The volunteers were calm and easily helped the little dachshund return to his Mama.

Two of the topicals were placed too low below the cat's collars. When Silvia got her kitties home, they started trying to groom each other and began gagging and drooling. If the topicals had been put just above the collar line, would have been harder for the siblings to get it in their mouths during mutual grooming.

Natasha did not take to all the vaccinations and topicals as well as Mom and her littermates. She curled up in a ball and refused to eat. She also staggered to the litterbox. We took her to the ER for a checkup. At ER, Silvia was told that only the checkup would be covered and not any treatment if needed. After some discussion (heated), Natasha's treatment was also covered (Benedryl shot).

In Conclusion: Event went well and very organized. Plenty of volunteers who were professional and calm - very good with animals. However I will be contacting SCART to find out why ER said that treatment was not covered, only the exam if needed.

Thankful to Know Asthma from TOXIC LILIES BEWARE!!

Hello internets, this am Guero, the kitty you saved last year... I am doing lots and lots goods. I had the same surgery that my brother Gordo had last week. Well I has a furry impawtant message to tells you

Yesfurday Auntie Katie gotted mew flowers from her hubby Purrson... and there were lilies in them...

And yesfurday afternoon, Auntie Katie Gave Mom Silvia a branch of Lilies to put outside on her window sill not inside where us kitties could get to them... cause Auntie and Mom knew that ifs we chewed on a lily, we could get furry sick.
Now here is the parts that none of us knew.

Mom Silvia carried the lily into the motel room with her, holding it to get water to put it in vase and set outside....They was not even blooming yets save for one that had broken off and was getting all wilty.

THEN SOMETHING REALLY BADS HAPPENED!!!

I got a good wiff of the lilies and gotted an asthma attack just from the fragrance and possibly pollen. Mom Silvia rushed me to Vet - my lips were turning blue. I COULD NOT BREETHES!!!! 

Thank goodness Mom got me to vet on time and vet poked me with shot to saves my lifes and gets me to breathe again.

Then today a kind person paid that bill.

We are so thankful for knowing lilies am bad!! Yet now we knows that I can't haz Lilies around even to puts in water and then outside!!

BEWARE - Kitties can get asthma from lilies.

Auntie Katie also gets asthma attacks from some flowers if they are inside.

NO MORE LILIES FOR ME!!! NO LILIES IN OUR HOUSE
and No Lilies evers again for Auntie Katie and her Katz. 

That's just too scary.
