Silvia's Guero Update: Guero was seen by vet at  El Paso Animal Clinic in Derby Thursday evening. He was given a vitamin B shot, metronidazole shot and prescriptions for Metronidazole and clavamox. 

The shots helped initially - he stopped having the runs every few hours and got some needed rest Thursday night.  Friday,
He took the Clavamox fine, but not the Metronidazole liquid so I went back to the vet (40 minute drive there and hour back due to construction) and got the Metro in pill form.  Still hated the pill and hacked it back up this morning and drooled from taste (yucky!)  Silvia also gave him a bit of Imodium yesterday and today.

This morning Guero kept drooling from the Metronidazole. Imodium didn't seem to help. He had messy stool this morning and some blood in it, he was laying in cat bed and lost control of both urine and stool. Went back to El Paso this morning for check up. 

Now back home, he is alert but hiding under the bed - raised bed high enough for cat beds and storage - yet you can see in his eyes that he doesn't feel well.




Both Arapaho and El Paso vets concur that Guero is due for blood work ($80+) because of surgery a year ago that removed his urethra... Please pray for Guero that he gets over being sick and this is not a sign that something is wrong with his kidneys. If you can pray and send some funds to get his blood work - Guero will thank you from his sweet heart... -Katie and Silvia  (funds in paypal right now are earmarked for rent on Tuesday)

(Update on Silvia's Gordo - his thyroid is still on the high level of normal, but he is back to eating and has gained some weight - Still unknown what is causing high thyroid. I am going to try the Pet Well Being products for thyroid and see if that helps.)

Thankful Fur Friends and Guero Urgent Update

Saturday UPDATE: Guero saw vet that a rescuer uses Thursday evening- had a fever. Doc gave him a Vitamin B and antibiotic shots.  Started on Clavamox and Metro - not doing well on the Metro. He did get some rest Thursday night.  Still having the runs some - he did have imodium Friday. Taking him to that Vet this morning because he is throwing up food and drooling from the Metro. Will do Saturday post later today....


12:23pm - Update on Guero: Silvia thinks that Guero ate the food meant for the girls - he doesn't tolerate the Purina Indoor that the girls eat.  She called her vet and he wants to see Guero tomorrow morning - makes no sense to me - a cat can get very sick and dehydrated... He said to keep trying to get him to eat. I have a can of prescription thats helps with diarrhea. Praying it helps Guero.

Thanksgiving am coming soon...

I am taking my meds and eating new foods... My tummy rash am betters, but my neck rash am taking longer to heal.
Katie Mom doesn't know yet if dis new Natural Balance foods am the best fur me. We will keeps you posted.

Pearl and Nice Lady

Lil Pearl liked her visit to see a nice lady and her dog. The nice lady liked her too. Yet it was not the match made in heaven that we all hoped fur...nice lady needs an older kitty.  Even though Pearl did not find her furever home last night, the nice lady gave 20 to buy foods and litter! Dat was furry nice.  Howsumever, the nice lady wants to meet Peach on Saturday. Even if dis am nots good fit fur Peach, the visit will give Katie Mom a chance to see what Miss Peach thinks of dogs....

And now fur the urgent Mewz needing helps asap and purrz... Guero is not getting better from the Big D... He received a Depro shot yesterday and some fluids by mouth at Silvia's vet who wanted to wait til today for antibiotic.  He needs to be seen today ASAP - but we need the funds to do so.

His runny stool is so bad that Silvia was up all night cleaning Guero and the floor, plus trying to get help to take him back to the vet today. 

Here am what her wrote to Katie Mom in the middle of the night:  "Can you update your blog please on Guero...he is way sick...diarrhea. I don't care about my rent I'll live in the street - I rather him be cured.. I'll manage being homeless and I'll see what I do with them Tuesday (cats whether to take them to a shelter).  I'd give my life for them I'll walk the alleys streets at night. Just to keep these fur cats taken care of. If you can update blog plz"

We have to find a way to get him back to the vet today... and still have rent for next week of 150.  Please can you help and share? Guero went to the vet this morning for runny stool... Please keep him in your purrz.  Doctor thinks it is stress related.  Guero had surgery the first of this year for Perineal Urethrostomy

Silvia's car still needs tie rods replaced (60 each) - missed a work opportunity Tuesday morning because car is too shaky....

Ginger Baby, Pearl, Silvia and Lost Kitties Found

This am National Senior Pets Month, Me dats Katie Kitty Too am doing the mewz today. I am 13 years old.  We haz mewz about the Lost Ginger Kitty, Pearl and an update fur Silvia and some thankful mewz to shares about tomorrow!

Some good mewz about the lost ginger baby girl... Her name am Peach. Katie Mom tooks her to ER Vets to check for a micro chip and her had one!!!  Little girl Peach am actually 3 years old and spayed. She had been missing for about a month.

Here am sad mewz... her previous daddy had left her with his room mate's mom cause Peach clawed the furniture...(and her clawed outdoor furniture of a neighbor?) instead of training her or clipping her nails or even using cute claw covers. (Peach has not clawed on anything so far) The room mate's mom lived over 8 blocks away from where Peach was found. She was not kept inside and had to cross dangerous busy streets to wander so far away... a motel tenant may have found her, looked after her, but then left her behind. Dat daddy person said he would talk to his room mate about taking her back and call us today.... Katie Mom doesn't think we gets any calls. So we am looking fur Peach a mew forever home.

PEARL UPDATE: A lady dats we haz been waiting to hears from finally texted Katie Mom last night abouts adopting Pearl!  Her has a doggie who loves kitties and needs a fun housemate.  Her wants to meet Pearl next week. We hopes dats dis am the goods home fur Pearl we haz been waiting fur....

And Guero wants to say, thank you for helping my Mom yesfurday! 
We gotted our rents, car insurance and guessdid whats? Those tires were fines. Auntie Katie and Mom Silvia wents to see Honest Man yesfurday and founds out tires was okay! Save that one has a leak and Honest Man tightened dat valve (we am crossing our paws). Car tie rods needs replacing was causing da rumbling...  dis other place just trying to sell tires and tell bad stories...   So Auntie Katie and Mom gonna finds out how to get tie rods and fix dem.

One more fings! Ifns you wants to reads good story...
Ninja da cat was losted here in our town while on vacation and gotted found and wents back to her family in Florida last weekend.  Purray! We tells more about dats tomorrow...

Wordy Wednesday Kitties and Vets

Hiya evfurryone... Molly Here - Me don't tell the mewz much. I am a furry smart, quiet kitty. I sat down to see if I could help Katie Mom find her thinking cap cause it fells off lately. We founded it though. we thinks... mol


Got lots of kitty mewz so the Mom am figurin out who to talks about furrst... we talks about Gordo cause there was some confusion about hims bloodworks done last Friday and so Katie Mom thought him needed another

doctor visit. Turned out that him didn't need one cause almost all the tests were done on Friday, save for pancreas and diabetes. We gonna puts a correction on Saturday's and Sunday's posts and date the correction.  Da confusion happened cause Katie and Silvia didn't gets the paperworks until Monday and they were told on Saturday "everything was fine," and not what does that mean?

We still don't know whats bloodworks means cause sent to a human lab that didn't point out what is on low sides and what am on high sides that even if they are in "acceptable ranges" they might indicate something by being close to the border. Gordo's thyroid am right on the HIGH BORDER - exactly the opposite what Katie thought it would be. Right on top of it. So Katie am doing the research herself cause Silvia's vet not telling us nuffin. Her might take the panel to our vets just to see what him says about results.

Now Mama Narcisca had anal glands plugged. Her went to vet on Monday and gots all that yucky stuffs pushed out. A nice lady paid fur her visit. Her gots a shot to helps with pain and a pill to helps with appetite. When her went home with Silvia, her hads a good time in litter box, but her fell down trying to go. Mama am a small kitty.  Her am doing some better, but running a mild fever at night. When Nana's cat Bibi had anal gland plugged, her gotted antibiotic shot, so don't know. Both Mama and Gordo are still having tummy troubles and up comes their foods. 

Katie wants to try a corn free food, very easy fix if kitties have developed tummies not likes corn no more, especially if Gordo may has IBS, yet Silvia's doc says don't change food, just get shot to calm stomach (instead of trying elimination diet to find whats bothering stomach?)...  Howsomever Silvia wants to try new bag of Purina Naturals see if something in old bag was problem  --- Silvia really wants to stick to Purina. (Maybe try Purina Beyond grain free. Yet that high Thyroid with Gordo is something that should be checked again to see if it goes outside of range.)

Now fur some loverly mewz. Pearl spent the night with us (Molly was in her bedroom though and Pearl was in bathroom) Monday and then went into to haz her spay yesfurday. Her am doing all goods afterwards so far. Pearl am recovering furry nicely...  Here am cutie pics when her gotted back to the fosters.  

Please purrz dats we gets Bibi to vet today.  We haz found where Nana's cat Bibi am bin hiding, and now we can hopefully catch her to gets to vet today. Could be a toothache. Her am not been sleeping much lately and her sits by the walkway on the couch arm and tells folks off all day, not like her. Bibi's head has been feeling hot. Her am 15 years old, so vital to gets her into vets. Her new appointment is at 3:30 today.

Urgent Prayers For Gordo, Pearls Spay Date and Bibi

Correction to Update Monday October 24 - Blood panel on Friday did include thyroid. Received paperwork Monday and results of thyroid showed borderline of high. Should be between .8 - 4.0. Results when taken were 3.8 right on the border of too high. See Wed Oct 26th post) /// 
UPDATE Saturday Oct 22 - Silvia's vet tested Gordo for anemia (white/red blood cells), liver and overall function. Will have paperwork Monday. Thyroid and Pancreas not done yet. Stopped by motel and checked Gordo myself to see how he is doing. He has lost weight, yet he is alert and his eyes are bright. He is getting some nutrition and liquid to stay down. His skin is way too loose. He should weigh more. Silvia's vet was rude saying that she worries too much probably just the flu - Gordo does not have the flu! I am going to see if I can get him in to see my vet by Monday. (Motel owner is letting Silvia do some room cleaning at 10 dollars a day to pay off old vet bill of 175.00). -Katie Kat.

Gordo has gone from this gorgeous boy with gold eyes to skinny as a rail... Something badly wrong. Silvia took him to vet yesterday for blood tests (Checking liver, thyroid, kidneys, pancreas. Thank goodness there was credit in her account) - but lab results were sent out and not done in house. No results yet and her vet closes early. Her vet did not give him anything to help his fluid intake yesterday and he is hardly keeping anything down. My vet is open until four today. I hope we can get him in for fluids while waiting for results. I have some Care Credit to cover at my vets (Hers doesn't take Care Credit) Up to Silvia and she is worried about rent for next week. Still trying to get money to pay back motel owner for previous vet bills. She is going out to sell a camera that she got from someone who owed her money to pay for rent next week. (She applied to work for election board and will apply for work cleaning RVs which she has done before) Gordo is eating a little and drinking, but throwing up after thirty minutes.  I don't understand why her vet only did tests and nothing to help keep his organs functioning.  I am very scared...

Other things happening will update later too:  Pearl's spay is scheduled for Tuesday.

Nana's cat Bibi still needs to have a checkup to find out why she keeps messing with her ears and her mouth seems to be bothering her.

Possibly a tooth. Been trying to get Bibi in to see a vet, she is 15 years old and loves to hide right at the last minute. Had given our vet a heads up about trying to get her in today, but may have to bring in Gordo instead.

Pearl Am Sleepy cutie.. Rainy Weather

Pearl in her mew collar... Foster Mommy am taking Pearl to vets this afternoon fur checkups (along with Pearl's friends Blake, Hazel and two dogs) and her getting shots too.

Foster Mommy has not hads sleepies last night so we gets more updates later likes cute videos and stuffs.

Pearl does fantastic with small dogs and loves having a friend to play with... Help us purr fur her furr-ever home furry soon.
