Borned June 5th, They turned 11 weeks old on Monday and they are furry small for their age.

sweet grey girl. Very smart, love to play. Litterbox trained. Still need

Silvia's roommate was getting paid this week, but the contractor found some excuse not to pay until the end of the month and may not pay even then!

mason work, but this guy wanted sloppy work done quick (in the rain?).
Silvia and Alex are trying small claims court. That leaves them needing
150.00 asap.
If we can get at least 75.00, I can help with the rest for
this week. Silvia is only getting a few hours cleaning work but won't
get paid until Friday. Thanks so much for helping Silvia Espinosa
and her kitties. Guero is still having poo wars and not quite healed
yet. Gordo still fighting a mysterious fever, yet Natasha hasn't had
another asthma attack, thank goodness.
Maddox is the kitty rescued yesterday (Sunday). More photos soon. He does have neurological
damage and a really bad upper respiratory. This is the info I have from his foster. He is staying at the vets with trouble breathing from upper respiratory infection. His oxygen level is 12 when it should be 35 (measured in PCV or Pack Cell Volume). Veterinarian examined kitten Monday morning. He has neurological damage from a trauma, yet no wounds found. Foster could not afford the xray to discover anything more. He is incontinent and
will need his bladder expressed 3 times a day and his bowel expressed
daily.
He will need lifelong care from a very special adopter.
His danger right now is the respiratory virus really hitting him hard. Maddox is about a year old and has not been able to eat much after being injured. He has been competing with other outdoor cats for food. Even a few dollars to help with Maddox's care could mean everything for this little boy! Please contact All Creatures and ask to pay on Maddox Darby's account.
Foster Jean Darby could not afford an xray for him. Please Keep Maddox in your prayers. Jean is a special education teacher and fosters paralyzed animals. She has other animals with paralysis. Even though her bill is so high right now, just could not let him die. Jean has cared
for pets with paralysis for over 17 years. Will be calling vet in the morning and give 30.00 - Praying that more can be donated for Maddox from others.

KFM only has so much to give at the moment. Two of Silvia's kids need a vet check up tomorrow (Natasha and Gordo are sick) and this week's rent will have to be paid before all money comes in from the auction to cover the funds. Also Guero is still healing slowly - still has bouts of loose stool and surgery not completely healed. (Still have two kitty sisters who need spayed so they can find homes.)

Me get to visit forever home tomorrow! Please send purrz and prayers that I will like this lady and her fambly. This furry nice lady has a kitty and 3 boys. She has been waiting long time to meet me. She loved my video on Face Book showing how I play fetch.
Before visiting tomorrow, Let me tell you bout the purrducts me tried from Chewy.com! Me gots to try three things that the Mom picked out and one that we weren't expecting.

Temptations Snacky Mouse Cat Treat Toy
Ziwipeak Good-Cat Venison Fish Jerky 3 Oz
Orijen Lamb FD Cat Treats 1.25 oz
The One we weren't expecting but glad to try too:Vetrio Perio Plus Cat Treats 60 Ct
Mom read at Chewy that these treats "have been designed to encourage compliance." They are supposed to help with plaque control and fresh breath. "These tiny bites have two delicious layers that represent a targeted
and hassle free delivery system to support cats’ dental health in
between cleanings."
They smelled goods, but I had trouble biting into these big treats. They were not really "Tiny Bites" like the info said. Mom had a very hard time breaking one up and I only ate one....
Mom checked with some kitties at other KFM locations and they thought the same thing... They smell good, but hard to bite into! Some kitties ate a piece that Mom broke off, but played with the "Big Bites" untill they fell on the floor...
Angel's Purrview: Dearest Chewy, thank you for letting me try these treats, even if I could not bite them. Dearest Vetrio Science, please fix Perio Plus Cat Treats so they are more in compliance with kitty mouths and Human fingers... Please make them biteable and more tasty.
Now for the TASTE TEST:
First Thing Mom let me try Ziwipeak Venison Jerky and they were good.
Second, The Mom let me try Orijen Lamb Treats and they were good too.
Yet I really liked one more than the other... as you can see in this taste test photo. Mom put both open bags on the counter. I jumped up and ignored one and went crazy over the other! Me apologizes for jumping up before Mom had time to get both packages with the labels forward!
SO FUR ME - THE WINNER OF THE TASTE TEST WAS ORIJEN!
Now Fur The Funs!
Since Temptations has corn in their ingredient, I didn't get to try them, although some other KFM kitties thought they was delicious. Howsumever, the Mom filled the Snacky Mouse with Orijen Lamb Treats and I had fun rolling Snacky Mouse all over the place until I gotted all my treats out and ate them!
The next day, though - I decapitated Snacky Mouse... mol and hid his body for ransom. Mom finally found his body and put it back together.

Dearest Temptations, please consider taking corn out of your snacks so that more kitties can eat them. I loves the Snacky Mouse, he is very fun, but easy for smart kitties to take off his head. Yet that adds to the fun sometimes too!

For Opt To Adopt Day, we're sharing from Blind Cat Sanctuary's blog post on Friday about white cats being born deaf. Here is some information that we did not know.
(https://blindcatrescue.blogspot.com/2016/01/1222016.html) Researchers found that 17 to 22 percent of white cats with non-blue eyes are born deaf. The percentage rises to 40 percent if the cat has one blue eye, while upwards of 65 to 85 percent of all-white cats with both eyes blue are deaf.
Some of these cats are deaf in only one ear. Interestingly, if a white cat with one blue eye is deaf in only one ear, that ear will invariably be on the same side of the head as the blue eye. What links blue eyes, white fur, and deafness? The combination of traits develops from a genetic defect in the set of embryonic stem cells that eventually become the cat's central nervous system, including hearing, and its pigment cells, which produce the melanin that gives eyes and hair its coloration. The white fur and blue eyes both are a consequence of a lack of melanin from pigment cells. Meantime, the same defect often also affects a cell layer of the inner ear that is essential for hearing. The resulting congenital deafness is noted by 3 to 4 weeks of age, the age at which newborn kittens normally are able to hear.
Penny, a cat at BCR just happens to be both blind and deaf.
From her sponsor me page: She was brought to BCR by a lady up in the mountains that had looked after her for a year or so. She stated that she had found her on her front porch one day and she wouldn't leave. She said she was allergic to kitty litter and no longer wanted the cat. She had tried for a year or so to find a home for her and no one wanted her. Penny was very lucky that a friend of the lady knew what was going on and BCR to take her. -

Penny is a super sweet girl with a big time purr and loves to climb! BCR staff has to always look up to find her because she will be at the top of the climber. She had belonged to someone at some point in her life. When the lady found her she was already spayed and declawed.
Guero is lucky and shows no signs of deafness. He still doing well with Prozasin. Have no idea why vet waited til last minute to try the medicine. Yet thankful that the meds are working.

Jordi Is Deaf
However KFM looks after one deaf kitty who only knows how to hiss. His name is Jordi and he is afraid of people.
His only hope is a forever sanctuary that takes in scaredy cats. When he was a kitten, he had just started to trust me, when a preventable event occurred when his feral mom was brought in to get her spayed and she stayed in the same room. I never fully got his trust back. Although he will sometimes eat from my hand, and he does like treats he stopped hissing long enough to get some Weruva one time and take his photo.

Most of you have seen Angel needing a home... Haven't shared much about Ellie May and her Mom Molly in a long while
They still need a furever place to go...
Ellie May may have suffered from a rare reaction to Advantage Flea meds... after getting a kitten dose last year between her shoulder blades, she nearly threw up. She also suffered from a bad tummy ache from tape worms for several weeks before the vet gave me the right worm medicine to give her. All I know is after the flea treatment, she over reacted to any sense stimuli - being touched or smelling anything. She would no longer sniff her mother's nose or let me pick her up.
I have spent months working with her every day, especially at feeding time, getting her to connect good things with good smells and being touched... Everyday is like two steps forward, one step back... Yet now Ellie comes to me at dinner time and turns around to try to rub against me with her back.
If meal time is late... she will get really anxious and try to be good and rub on me.. but her patience is thin and she gets slappy claws...
My new step has been to ask her... "how you get food, Ellie May? You know how..." until she calms down and lets me pet her. Sometimes with my hand, sometimes with a spoon... Sometimes she will rub her head against my hand on her own
She is smart, loves to play laser toy and is fascinated with the mirror left on the floor for her to look at... Keeping her mother Molly with her seems to help her act like a good kitty, yet sometimes Molly will take off when Ellie gets too upset.
I am out of Feliway - dispenser recalled. I tried to prozac, but just can't hold her down to give her pills... won't work. I don't know of a calming shot - or I would try that too.
Behavior therapy and Feliway work best to help her learn how to be calm on her own... Ellie May needs a home where they know how to deal with special needs babies.. who have experience in Behavior Therapy. Because Ellie May keeps slowly doing better! My oldest baby, Katie Kitty Too was a slappy girl, but I could reach her... Katie wanted to be held. Ellie May needs more than I can give.
Ellie May's only hope.... Otherwise, I cannot continue to keep her as my daily responsibilities keep me from giving Ellie May all the Therapy she needs everyday. Ellie May and I need all advice on finding that special home or sanctuary that you know. I must find someone who can take her in.
All help you can give will save her life...Sharing, Information, Anything. I am willing to take her anywhere in the U.S. - on the underground kitty network - to save her. Only alternative is OTRB...

Guero is still struggling with the Pee Wars. She took him into vet today to help relieve his bladder. Silvia has been applying for work. She does have a room mate now who helps some, but he works in construction - no jobs in bricklaying in the Winter.
Found some housekeeping jobs on Career Builder, including at YMCA and she applied there today - Please keep her and her fur babies in your prayers... Silvia has a bad cold/flu and I am struggling to not to come down as well.
The vet is willing to give all the kids their rabies shots and let her pay later... Will keep you posted... Thank you for your purrz and prayerz.

Hiya! The Mom here...when Mew's kittens weren't doing well on Fancy Feast because of the dried milk ingredient, I had the privilege of donating almost a case of canned kitten food (23) and kitten replacement formula to Lifeline Animal Placement and Protection last week.
LAPP is Sedgwick County's only no kill animal shelter. Here are some of their sweet kittens waiting to get old enough to be adopted. The woman holding the cutie below took the replacement food home for the bottle babies she was fostering.

The next kitten is Pinball. She was born with out real eyes. Yet she seems to see light. She loves to play with her toys and oh so sweet!

And then there was little Teensy in quarantine... yowling for attention!!! He had a bowl of dry food, but I gave him a Fancy Feast can of food and he jumped back in his cage and nommed it all up!!
Any amount of donation would help kittens and cats at this privately owned shelter run by many volunteers who sacrifice their time and love for dogs and cats in need of forever homes... They take in special needs animals, including FIV and FLV cats that would otherwise be euthanized. They are always in need of food and litter and more room to save more pets.
Tell them that Kat, the lady with the Fancy Feast cans told you about them!
Thanks to Brian and his Bestest Dad Terry, Molly and Ellie May are off to the vets for their shots tomorrow before they get spayed in a couple of weeks. Angel got her shots last Friday (thanks again Brian and Terry!) and will be spayed this Friday June 5th.
