Justin Memorial

Justin Boo Boo leaped to Heaven yesterday, June 9 at 1pm, Escorted by Flash the Hero Cat
and Puzzles' Spunky Bear (aka Boo Bear)

(photo mania supernova plus pho.to frame)

(lunapic editor)

Vet could not tell what was wrong. He had ulcers in his paws and lost weight.  Possibly auto immune disease... Yet he was eating. Too much on Justin's frail frame to run tests. He is home in heaven running free with Flash and our other babies there. I will always remember him as the little boy rolling around on the patio near his Mama. We will miss our fraidy boy who was rescued too late to bond well with people...

Psalm 36:6-7 "Oh Lord you save humankind and animals... how excellent is your unfailing love..." (paraphrase)

Thank you to those who sent money for his vet visit.
If anyone can spare some funds for Justin's urn - would be a wonderful blessing... (paypal to laugh_safely at yahoo dot com using the gift to family and friends)

Justin Boo Boo is furry sick

Can you help Justin?

Justin is almost 7 years old but his health is not good.
He has been eating but cannot gain weight...
He is a scaredy cat and hides most of the time.
That's why his people didn't know how skinny he was UNTIL NOW
Will be furry hard to take to vet -
Just the past few days has let me touch him.
He won't let my brother get near.
Think I found good vet that can handle him - bless his heart.
Will be making an appointment...
going to need blood work to find out what is wrong.
And he can't take sedation...
I am hoping it is thyroid and can be treated

Only have so much Care Credit.
If you can help him see the vet.
We want to save him if we can...
Please paypal a laugh_safely at yahoo dot com.

Thank you from Justin and the Katie Katz.
Will update you on how he is doing... -Katie.

HEROES ARE ALWAYS AMONG US.... Sunday Sermon with Katie Kitty Too...

Katie the Mom and Katie Kitty Too here with Part Two.This am Double Post due to ER today for Sammy... we just hads to share...

Fur all who am our heroes this year, especially fur Auntie Silvia and her five cats, and strays she feeds outside. We have 2 more cats to trap so Auntie Silvia and her babies can find another place to go...  Auntie Silvia is a Kitty Saver and a furry Hero... without her, several kitties would not be alives or has loving homes now.

Ronnie Loves hims Mommy Silvia
Back a few posts ago, Silvia was planning on going to California to be with her sister... right now, her sister is asking her not to come... this is not place to share.

The reason that Auntie Silvia asked not to do You Caring no mores nor to writes about her.... a purrson wrote to Silvia on Facebook that she was overusing You Caring and proceeded to tell her what she should be doing without first asking the situation or how they could help... right when Silvia had just hurt herself so badly - sprained her back and cracked her tailbone - trying move an object without help. Talk about bad timing... Now Silvia cannot work without pain. Because of this, Sherri Painter of the Painter Pack (on Facebook now) encouraged Silvia to keep going - took Sherri two years to get back on her feet.

At least five more weeks before Silvia is healed... and only if she can stay off her feet, which she can't without funds to help her and her cats have food and shelter.

We are furry sads and in shock to find out who this purrson is...  this purrson did not writes us and find out WHY WE ARE STILL HELPING!!!

We don't know what was actually said or what her intentions were, we just gonna cry cause their writing caused a gentle hero to put herself in danger for the sake of the cats she loves (and dats anuther story).  All we am going to do is ask if you can keeps on helping a True Kitty Hero...

We are helping cause Silvia loves so much that she would hurt herself... she has no family but her cats. Silvia is a true hero, the kind who never want anything fur themselves, who given a choice would put themselves in danger to save someone or an animal... Right now, we needs all the purrz we can gets to save two girls and get them trapped... we needz purrz thats someone will step up to take them in - what we have been waiting on, a place fur them to go.  And we need purrz to finds a place fur Silvia and her kitties - who have no one to call family no mores...

Thank your fur your purrz,
Katie Kitty Too

Updatez n Stuff

Hiya.... dis am Tommy.  I babysit my six kittiez and keeps dem in linez at the Momz brudderz house.... actually I just keeps Jordi out of trouble mostly and ask the Mom when can I go outside agin?????? As you kin see, I amz an adorable hunk.  Da vet calls me hur linebacker!!
Now fur da mewz.  My daughter Miri am doing reel goodz!!!  Fanks fur alla dem purrz fur her to be goods and not hurt herself.

Her stitches ams healing real good so far.  Plz keep purring dat hur heals ups alla da way.  And hur am a much calmer kitty now acshully!  Maybe hur not slap my nose so much now! (Miri iz my only gurl and hur gets fed ups wif so many boy catz in da house sumtimez!)

Now fur other mewz.... The Mom checked into our friendz at Jan's Funny Farm, to findz out dey waz given a spot on Pet Moz!  You can read about dem at Featured Friday: Jan's Funny Farm: Full of Life, Love & Laughter.  And in dat artikul u kin see dere Percy sacked out, snoozing and snoring amid all da cushunz.   Datz furry good mewz!

Unfurshunatsly, the Mom haz bad newz.

Some bad bug bit our pooter and broke da operating system. So weze ams borrowing a nuver one until the Mom gets a better pooter frum Uncle Mike, hur brudder.  And weze needz a newer modem wif a better firewall!  Our modem/router (ATT Two Wire) am likes more den twice az oldz az me!  and I dont know how many olds I am.  I finks I am two maybe.

Da Mom finks a newer modem/router and an updated operating system (bin running XP) likes Windowz 7 mite have bit dat bad bug afore it bit our pooter!

Da Mom bin keeping most of da files on a separate hard drive (D) from the C drive. I reelly dont knoh what dat meenz, but wif Miri'z help (dat smart gurl takez aftur hur mommy Maggie), the Mom waz ables to move da files on C to D in Safe Mode, so we gotted effurting!! And weze got a back up of almost alla da files at carbonite.com!
The Mom just had to put D drive ina nuther pooter! Now hur just gotta finds out how to keep saving our filez n stuffs from a difurnt pooter. The Mom will talk to da Carbonite folks tomorrow.

We knowz Bootsie purrmiced dat the Mom would share hur recent artwork wiff u, so we try to do dat before Chrissy mouse and Hanukatz posts.  Also, Miri am helping da Mom puts togevur a photo collage of my kidz and me to puts below da banner photo showing Katie Too, Bootsie Woo and Maxwell Tigger.  And den after Chrissymouse, da Mom will write bout seven bloggiez at leest bout me and my kidz...how we needs furever homez, and Maggie da Mom who disapeared.

Nooz Furr Purring Bout

Hiya Furry Peeplez!

We have so mush to talks bout and tellz u. Like how the Mom swallowed a soda can tab on hur purrthday and had to go get x-rayz (hur okay-dat fell down inda toilet later). Three of my 5 brothers and me tested negative for Leukemia!! And we all turned 1 year old sumtime dis month!

We am going to have posts bout us six babies and our purrsonaliteez to help us find our furrever home(s).

And Daisy May Daffodil bin staying at a no-kill sanctuary called Meadowbrook Farms to get hur lady oppurayshun. Cause after Daisy gave birth to hur kittens in 2009, hur been stressing out and kept using da water bowls for hur toilet... and da Mom tried evfurrting to help hur not do dat. Din Daisy started chasing Bootsie alla time til Bootsie would not come out and eat or nuffin. Soh Daisy went to dis sanctuary to get looked after and have some rest from stress.

Furrst we have to ask u to purr bout deze fings.

Bootsie Woo am getting Spayed today. Dat shy tuxie girl in da banner dat am hiding under a chair will have hur lady opurayshun today. Bootsie am going to Cat Hospital of Wichita, a furry good clinic wif a good vet named DR. KELLY JONES, DVM. Dr. Jones loves kitties and I like hur too cuz hur helped me get over bronchitis when I waz bout 3 months old. Soh pleze purr fur little Bootsie Woo. Hur am a 3 year old small gurl at only bout 6 and a half pounds!

The Vet at Meadow Brook Farms had a bad heart attack - Dr. Brooks needs alla purrz and tail wags he can get to recupurrate. He loves fur babies and horses. He waz so kind to Mom when her was crying bout Daisy needing help. Dr. Brooks is a gentle soul and we am so worried bout him.

The Mom has not been able to contact the Safe Harbor Rescue at Meadow Brook Farms to find out how Dr. Brooks am doing and if alla da 60 sum dogs and kitties are being relocated or not. Da dogs and kitties include Daisy May Daffodil. Soh we dont know if Daisy has a new home yet or if dey need help or funds to take care of deze babies. Pleze purr for Dr. Brooks and all hims horses and furrbabiez. If you can, pleze call or write dem to let him know dat u am purring and if you kin help in some way like spreading da word dat dogs, kitties and horses may need urgent help in Kansas!

Now furr our Speshul purrsentashun: Da one and only Miri-Go-Round!

Da Computur am Broke

Well sumbuddy broked da compootur... Mom sez we make short updates. Dat weerd compootur just started makin a bads noize. Mom thot it waz da fan, but it mite be da hard drive.

Mom tried ta wake da compoorter dis mornin, but it cant finish wakin ups! It just keeps tryin ta start dat opurratin system.

We hopes dat da hard drive am nots deaded cuz Mom just puts bout ten purrty photos on it and no copies uv dem.

If it am da hard drive, Mom will hafta finds a company dats restores stuffoms from hard drives dat got dead motors.

Miri and Sammy and Toby went to vets on Monday. Miri's lungs sound okays.

Sammy had enlarged lymph glands and waz sneezin - him got pillz fur dat. Toby am okays, just wanted to go too. Him am 4 1/2 pounds!

Sammy was almost 4 pounds. Miri over four pounds.

Da Vet lady tried da natural flee killer stuffs on dem, and day okays wif it. Whew... Mom was worried dat stuffoms mite be badz fur dem. Turned out dat Mom hads a rash, but kittiez were okayz! Mom gonna do sompin diffurnt for da shy babiez (Justin, Jordi and Jaspurr).

When Miri Sammy n Toby gotted home, dey all went sleepy fur hours and hours.... and growed some more! Sammy am over 4 pounds now! Yay! Him was all skinny n stuffoms after da last growing time. Da vet thinks dat Sammy am younger or sompin den da other kitties and will be a big boy cuz of hims big earz.

Sammy gotted sompins bads doh. Him haz juvenile glaucoma. So does Jordi, the bicolor white. Dat meen da kittens can go blind later. Mom gonna chek Jaspur and Justin to see if dey haz bads eyes too.

Unca Mike caughted Maggie! Hur am in a big crate to keeps hur safe til hur vet visit, but hur am hiding in da kitty carrier dat Mom puts in da big crate. Hur am all hissy mads rite now. We cant show u a photo til compootur am fixed. Mom am borrowin Unca Mikes PC.

Weze hopes to gets Maggie hur lady opurrayshun furry soon so dat hur not gets tired out from morh kittenz. But hur am all hissy spittin rite now... cause hur nots never bin in da Indoor world bfore.

Plz purrz fur da compootur and alla kittenz cause deyz needz homes dats understands dem.

Sunnyday Photos and Updates

Easy Like Sunday Stuffoms....

Look... Weze Growed!
And still fits in one chair!

Miri in the back, Sammy in the middle and Toby in the front. Still got some Rexness going on... There are two main Rex mutations:
Wavy/Kinky underfur without guard hairs (Devon & Cornish - passive gene) and Curly guard hairs (Selkirk - dominant gene).

My babies seem to have some kind of incomplete dominant...

Can't see Toby's white bib and toe in this pic. Toby is getting more guard hairs in, but his fur is still curly and the guard hairs are wacky looking.

Miri and Sammy have an appointment on Monday. Sammy will get checked for FeLV. Sammy is sneezing and Miri is still hacking once in a while. I hate Miri to go on Clavamox again.

Miri just started having good bowel movements versus diarhea from the meds killing good and bad bacteria. I am giving her acidophilus and flax seed to help her gain back the good bacteria.

Two of my shy babies are getting a bit braver. Jazpurr of soft white fur (wavy tummy furs) and Justin of smoky fur. Thought Justin was a black kitty, but all of his furs are white tipped in black. Hardly any guard hairs on Justin, just kinky underfur tipped in black. Him is furry purrty, furry shy yet likes being held and him loves to be with Toby, gentler black sorta tuxie boy.

Jazpurr is also sneezing now. Gonna have to figure out how to quarantine some sniffle kids from the non-snifflers... or just give them all meds?!?

Below is Mr. Cranky Jordi of coarser fur and kinky whiskers. (Bi-color Rt yellow eye, Lft blue). Still responds to being picked up, tummy rubs and back skritches. Furst he has to hiss at you to let you know him not happiez unless you givez himz chicken. Den him happiez. Maybe him has itchy fur from bad fleez n and grumble tummy dat needs acidophilus... hmmm dats good idea.

Just purchased a new product from PetSmart. A topical between the shoulders that uses natural stuff that fleas hate, like mint and citrus! Can't wait to see how it works. Just couldn't see using something else on sniffle, sneezy furr babiez.

And made a new friend who can help me find homes!! And she also wants me to draw her 8 cats! She actually had one her cats at PetSmart! Sweet long haired white boy with the pinkest nose.

I am going to start giving them an herb blend on a regular basis that is good for their liver, which can get overworked with FeLV.

Just found this at Animal Wellness Magazine:
"Although Lexus continues to test FeLV positive, she remaind symptom-free until February of last year, when she had a severe asthma attack which was quickly alleviated with a properly administered homeopathic remedy. After her attack, Lexus vet started her on a glyconutrient and has remained symptom-free ever since. She no longer has fevers, lethargy or poor appetite, has gained some much-needed weight, and happily rules her guardian's house."

Interesting.... I'll ask my vet about it.

Purrz,
Katie Kat.

Miri Thank You 4 Helping Me

Thank you all for helping Miri! Here is a recent video to watch fur Sunny Day.

Thanks to Cat Blogger Auction, sweet Miri (short haired tabby) is doing better after antibiotics for bronchitis. Here she plays with brothers Toby (tuxie), Sammy (long-haired tabby) and my camera strap!

Miri is still coughing a little and still needs a followup visit with Cat Hospital of Wichita.

Her brothers have wacky, wavy and curly Rex like Furs.

Toby and Sammy have done a bit of growing, but are still small for their age. The lump underneath their ribs is hard to feel now... their bodies are in an awkward growing stage which is part of the picture. Still, enlarged liver is a sign of FeLV.

All the Kittens may have FeLV and will have to be tested.

Please keep purring for a forever home for these sweet guys. Toby, Sammy and Miri are all smaller than normal size kittens at five to six months old.

=^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^=

Their harder to tame down brothers are bigger, yet making progress with understanding. Had a Helen Keller moment with Jordi (bi-color white) today. He finally connected the giver of chicken, my fingers and scratching his ears! He even smiled and relaxed his face. What a good boy!

Will get some more updates on the three wilder boys and new photos. I hope I can get the bigger boys neutered this coming week using vouchers from RETAIN.

Thank you all for your kind donations to Maggie's Kitten Fund. I know your purrs and support are going to make a big difference in six kitten's lives.

Katie Kat

A Miri and Littermates Update

Sorry so lates in posting dis. The Mom iz tukkerd outs. (Shhhh... Miri am sleepin.)

Dr. Jones said that the wheezy sound is now in her upper respiratory only and the congestion is moving up into her trachea so she can cough it up!

She said to continue the rest of the antibiotics and bring her in for another check up after that. She doesn't need Prednisone!! Which is great because it is not good for growing kittens.

Miri has also gained a whole pound of weight and has grown some more! She is still a little girl for 5 months old.

Miri and Jaspurr (the biggest white kitty) are the only ones showing straight furs. Justin (Brownish Black), Jordi (Bicolored Eyed White) and the long-haired boys all have some sort of kinky or curly furs or whiskers. Seems that the underhairs are more kinky and the top furs are more straight. Have to look up which Rex mutation that is closest to theirs which I hope will help them find new foster Moms who can lovingly look after them with patients and purrz.
Sir Sammy Purrzalot

Gotta a new problem with the furbabies.
Sammy has an odd lump under his right ribs. Toby seems to have it too, so must be an enlarged organ. It is in the spot where the liver should be... enlarged liver is a sign of luekemia. Making an appt for these two sweet hearts who purr all the time. Sammy even purrs when you pick up his brother. Will get him tested for Leukemia as well.

More updates soon on these curly critters.

Miri to Vet in the Morning

Miri (in front) and Sammy (in back)

Miri's breathing has not improved enough with the antibiotics.

She is still chronically wheezy and hacking, just not as frequently.

Taking her in to Dr. Jones at The Cat Hospital 9:15 CST
Dr. Jones wants to run some more tests.

Please purr for Miri's trip and her tests.

OUR A NONNY MOUSE HAS JUST ANNOUNCED THAT AGAIN THEY WILL
MATCH ALL BIDS ON THIS WEEK'S FUND RAISING FOR MIRI!

Bidding update Friday August 13 5:50 pm est

$12.00 Ginger Jasper
$10.00 Alasandra
We are taking bids for the top ten highest!

This week we are offering sketch drawings by Katie Kat.

I am pitching in to help sweet Miri get some more $$$. One hundred percent of the money raised for Miri and her brothers goes for their expenses. Miri has improved but is still having trouble breathing. She is on her last round of antibiotics and will need a checkup and possibly prednisone as well as spaying. It is still unclear whether the only problem is infectious bronchitis versus chronic asthma as well. There are still vet visits to follow for all the kittens. The boys will also need to be tested for leukemia and be neutered.

There are a limited number of sketches offered so be the first to bid and keep checking to make sure you have one of the top ten highest bids to assure that you will receive one. If you have a winning bid you will be contacted after the auction has ended and at that time you can pay for your sketch.

To bids on a purrtrait, please go to

Hiya every purrson,
Our Mom am sooo grateful fur all dats u iz doing to helps hur wif dis overwhelming task of saving deze here kittens and dere Mom and all da expenses in doing dat.

- Katie Kitty Too

Will be capturing Maggie as soon as she can (Miri and her brother's Mom) to get her spayed and tested for leukemia.

Unknown how Maggie will react after capture. We am purring that Maggie will calm down and be able to be adopted versus going back outside as a homeless feral. Will try to get a better photo of her. She is a very pretty grey tortoise shell.

Purrz of thanks for all you are doing to help me with this ginormouse task of saving these sweethearts who deserve a chance. I know that Maggie in her own way asked me to take care of her babies after they were weaned. I promised to do my best.

Miri is a Sweet Baby

Hiya... It is now 2:22 am CST. Miri had a eucalyptus treatment this morning which helped. She started breathing easier. She doesn't seem to mind having a towel over her head and breathing in the vapors from a cereal bowl, as long as she is in my lap at the time.

She needed another treatment this evening, but her breathing didn't improve afterward.

Had to use the albuterol inhaler with the funnel I had made out of a water bottle. I sprayed the inhaler into the wide part of the "funnel" first and then placed the mouth of the bottle over her nose while she was wrapped up in a towel.

What a sweet baby! As long as she didn't hear the noise of the inhaler, she didn't mind breathing from the funnel.
After about six breathes, she was "done," and moved her head. (The vet had me count to ten with Sandy... but he was a big boy.) I held her with her upright in my arms and her breathing finally calmed. She slept in my arms for over an hour.

I just put her the bathroom with her curly haired brothers a few minutes ago. Toby and Sammy are such a silly handful. I am still amazed at their quick adaption to two-legged Mommies.

Gotta go check on her other brothers before I call it a night. They would rather huddle together in a hidey place like a carrier or a big box. They're still not sure what "Indoor World" is all about, but they do love chicken, which is helping their adjustment to two-legged Moms.

The white boys, Jordi (Blue eye, Yellow eye) and Jazpurr (the big baby) are calming down and getting used to being held, but Justin, the other black kitty is a furry little fighter. He is going to take longer to socialize. Good thing I'm used to strong willed kitties! Just wish Maggie their four-legged Mom had brought them to us the same time as the first three.

Katie Kat

Last 3 Kittens and Miri has Asthma

Been a long week! Sorry so late in this update
Caught the last three kittens last Sunday night!!

Keeping these three bigger babies quarantined for now in an extra large dog crate. Sure are a handful to tame down for "Inside Land," but progressing surprising well. I wrap them in a towel and pet them and scratch their ears, making lovey talk. They are now just mild hissy babies, versus LET ME OUT OF HERE!!! lol...

Had to treat them for fleas and worms. Thanks to Jane in England... was able to give them worm meds and flea applications on Tuesday. Since Frontline costs 40.00 for three doses, I tried the generic "Tri-Force," for only 20.00. Works slowly. Still a lethargic flea on one of them yesterday!

Here is a photo of my big scaredy kittens:

Our Three J's... or 3 Cat-skateerz.

White kitty in the back is Jordi with one yellow eye and blue left eye. (or Geordi for Lt. LaForge on Star Trek). Probably partially deaf.

White kitty Jazpurr in front is the biggest baby.

Fiesty little black bear kitty is Justin (Justin Case he settles down! He is a furry little fighter!).

Yesterday, their tamer brothers and sister came to visit with supervision from outside the crate. The boys calmed down and recognized their littermates. Still a bit of mild hissing and large "personal space" going on. Jordi got bold and started playing with a rope hanging from the crate top, while the other two just laid down and closed their eyes to let smaller Sammy and Toby know they were "cool" with them hanging around.

v6666666666666tayyyyyy Sa78mmy i t8888888h is typing! - okay Sammy, off the keyboard now, gotta talk about your sister.

Sweet Miri has Asthma.

She is in my lap right now, wheezing. Mildly, thank God.

She was having some milder symptoms several times this past week, but they sounded like hacking from a fur ball. And since she has a sensitive tummy, just watched her closely. But she never threw anything up.

Then Thursday, she was hacking fairly bad and I put my ear to her chest and heard the trachea clicking, a sign that Sandy Red Tigger (1990-2006) made when he had trouble breathing. Still thought something was stuck in her throat, since she just ate something. Sandy never hacked when he had an asthma attack.

Then last night after vigorously playing with Toby, she had a full blown wheezing attack. Sandy took Albuterol Sulfate as an adult, the same as me. Normally you use a tube and a small mask to administer, but didn't have it. I took a risk and opened her mouth to spray some in. The sound scared her, but she breathed in some of the med and began breathing better, but not too much for her little body. I'm going to monitor this weekend and search for herbal remedies online. Hopefully won't have to use emergency vet.

Hopefully will be able to make an appointment with the Cat Hospital where Dr. Jones can run tests to check for allergies, a collapsing trachea or heart worms. I hope to God it isn't a symptom of heart worms. I'm going to ask ML if we can have an auction for her. She is only 4-5 months old and soo young to be having so much trouble breathing.

And all the boys should be tested for FLV and Leukemia and get their shots before neutering. As long as they all test negative, then I can use my free voucher to get them neutered at the the low cost clinic. Miri will need to be tested as well and may need monitoring when spayed. May not be able to use the free voucher for her, because the low-cost clinic doesn't have the equipment, plus have to wait and find out if this is asthma or something else.

From an article on feline asthma: http://cats.about.com/od/respiratorydisease/a/felineasthma.htm
A full-blown asthma attack may at first resemble a cat trying to cough up a hairball, or possibly choking on food. However, the body posture is somewhat different. With asthma, the cat's body will be hunched lower to the ground and his neck and head will be extended out and down in an effort to clear the airway of mucous. The "gagging" may also be accompanied by a typical coughing sound, and possibly sneezing. The cat may or may not expel foamy mucous... These serious attacks may not happen frequently, which makes it easy to write them off as just a hairball.

Actually, they can be life-threatening, and a cat in a full-blown attack should be taken to a veterinarian immediately. Even a cat showing one or two of the early symptoms should be examined. Once diagnosed, there are things you can do to help your cat during one of these attacks.

Other diseases share many of the same symptoms as feline asthma, including Heartworm Associated Respiratory Disease, a serious disease in itself. Your veterinarian will use several diagnostic tests to eliminate those conditions.

Most common diagnostic tools are:

  • Blood Tests. These are the quickest and easiest, and will detect infection, which often accompanies asthmatic bronchitis. They will detect macrophages, esoinophils, neutrophils, and mast cells, which are types of blood cells that help constitute the immune system. And blood work is also useful in eliminating other diseases with the same symptoms.
  • Chest XRay. Also called a thoracic, xray, will disclose abnormalities, such as areas of chronic irritation, as caused by infection, a flattened diaphragm, or unusual fluid accumulation. Evidence of heart disease may also be seen. This would not necessarily eliminate asthma, as the two sometimes go hand-in-hand. Your veterinarian may want to send the xray to a specialist for consultation.
  • Bronchoalveolar Lavage. This is an extremely useful procedure and in itself, perfectly safe. BAL, as it is called, is performed by inserting an endotracheal tube into the trachea under general anasthesia, then fluids present in the airways of the lungs are extracted through this tube for examination. Aside from asthma, the BAL may diagnose other conditions of the lungs. In a study done in Barcelona of 26 cats, two were found to have Toxoplasma gondii cysts, two showed evidence of carcinoma, and 18 were determined to be related to asthma or infectious bronchitis. The down side of BAL is that it requires a general anesthesia, counter-indicated in a cat with severe respiratory distress
Please keep Miri in your purrz and prayerz, especially this weekend. Will update if I have to take her to the emergency vet.

Toby is Curly!!

Toby now has curly fur! Especially on hims tummy! Sammy's fur is getting wavy and even Miri is getting longer furs mixed in with her short ones. They don't seem too wavy though, still that is odd.

Some kind of Rexness going on here, which is a mutation. Well maybe that explains their adaptability to people! And will also help in finding them homes.

Still working on catching the other three kittens. Got an xxl crate and it is sitting outside right now. I put their food in and Maggie and the remaining babies go in and eat! The crate cost 60.00, but I hope to re sell it when I no longer need it.

(Had to scare an Opossum off the porch last night!)

Today is the day to buy the second round of worm meds fur Toby, Sammy and Miri.
And I will have to get worm meds for the other kittens.
Mom has had her first dose. So she will need her next round, too.
The round worm tablets are only 2.15 a piece at Mitchell's Vet Supply. Will give their tabs tonight.

Funny sideways Video of Toby and Sammy playing in the living room.

Toby and Sammy in a box - they stayed in the box for nearly thirty minutes!!!

Toby finally jumps out.

No matter what we did, Sammy stays in the box!

More stuffoms later!

When it purrz, it rainz more kittenz

Maggie was holding back three more kittens!!

Two white kittens and one more black kitten showed up Sunday Morning.

They were born and raised in an empty house next door. Used to people smells, they're learning what "people" look like. Will tell a longer back story later.

A far shot with my digital camera, showing Maggie and two of her remaining kittens eating. The black one has his/her face in the bowl. One of the white kittens may be a girl. Going to need worm meds.

Will ask Dr. Adkins if I can buy Drontal from her since Drontal covers all worm infestations with one dose. Will let you know how much that would be for three kitten pills.

The Round/hook and tapeworm meds (two different pills) from the Vet supply would cost abt 8.00 for each kitten, around 24.00 total.

Once captured, will have to keep them separated from their other siblings until they have been dewormed at least.

And the little bathroom won't hold 6 three month old kittens at once!

Have a quiet room where I can put a big crate for the last three kittens and possibly Maggie too. Looking on Craig's list and price ranging from 20 to 50 dollars. Making phone calls Monday morning to see who still has one and price.

Some good news! I have a voucher code that will get my almost three year olds Bootsie and Daisy spayed for free as well as spaying Maggie and getting her babies fixed at Kansas Spay and Neuter Clinic. The voucher is from a local organization called RETAIN. (Wichita, Kansas)

Hope to catch Maggie and her remaining kitties furry soon!

Update on first three kitties: Both Toby and Miri's stools not firming up. Corn free food time! RETAIN has 1.00 coupons from Petco for Natural Balance, a corn-free food! Will be about $7.99 in store for 3 lbs with coupon. Does anyone know where I can get more Petco coupons?

Other choices for a corn free food include: Katzen Flocken, which is good for kittens. (runs around $9.00 for 4 lbs) and Petsmart Authority Brand for sensitive tummies ($7.99 for 4 lbs)

Would like to know if anyone has better ideas for corn free food for these kittens and their mommy.

Thanks for any help, especially financially to look after these kittens until I can place them in forever homes. I can draw your purr babies from a photo that you can send me by email. Some folks can only donate small amounts, but it adds up to saving these little ones.

If you donate, please let me know if you would like a portrait done or an ACEO that I have already made.

Here are some examples of my work: The kitty patty pawing is Pencil, crayon and watercolor on yellow cardstock.

ACEO (Artist Certified Edition Original) one of a kind 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 and is available for any donation amount.

The Beagle and the Siamese below are samples of orders from folks who sent me a photo and asked for a purrtrait. These finished drawings were 4 x 6.

Purrz of Thanks fur helping these sweeties,
