BIG BIG Thank you fur all the purrz and wishes fur Gordo... Thank goodness he made it through emergency surgery to remove his urethra yesfurday morning. He is still furry weak and needs lots of purzz... still short by $220.00 to pay for hims surgery - (the Mom needs to check for sure there am no more charges than 600.00 - so far we haz 380.00 paid - but paperwork not showing how much owed, just how much paid. So we fixed yesfurday's post math stuffs.)

Wordy Wednesday - Salmonella!!

Auntie Silvia's kids are sick with Salmonella! Katie Mom bought Purina Naturals at Petsmart and Purina Indoor Cat Chow at Walmart on August 12th. NO FUNDS TO GET 5 cats MEDS.

To top all that, Silvia had an emergency with Ronnie last week - got into hard to open cabinet and bit a Tide detergent pod. Money came in for shot to help get rid of toxins - yet by weekend, Silvia rushed him to ER for fluids - she owes the motel owner for ER and paying her phone. Mama Narcisca went to vet on Monday for UTI and she owes for that bill. Then yesterday, Ronnie back to vet and he tested for Salmonella! All the kitties are throwing up with diarrhea.  Throwing out cat food (we gotta finds out if foods supposed to be tested somewheres) and no money for more food or meds for her kids... Need to cover debts and cat food and meds for salmonella... Need purrs and help asap.

Uncle Mike's neighbor is still in hospital (Vet Visits and Emergency Purrz) His name am Dirk - he has indoor and outdoor kitties and Katie Mom has been feeding them everyday... Dirk had a white mama cat supposed to stay in the house, but she got out while the emergency crew showed. Katie saw a white kitty and tried to pick her up to see if it were mama cat or white boy cat (checking fur milk) to put her back in the house, but she scrambled out of her arms and took off. She hasn't been seen since. Katie and Mike tried to finds the kittens in the house, but no good. We am wondering if something happened to the kittens cause Mom said white kitty didn't have any milk and her has not come back home... 

Bootsie and me am doing betters. The ouchie on my neck is getting much smaller thanks to little pills Mom gives me with my favorite canned food and ointment on my neck.  Bootsie has lost some weight though, yet her am taking her pills likes a trooper. Just gots ta finds sumpin her likes to eats.

Pearl am doing lots betters too and we hopes to gets her to her foster home furry soon. The foster Mommy's house has been getting lots of remodeling down - hopefully likes a day this week Katie Mom can get over to see where Pearl will be staying.

Our Friend Liz who has Mitchel had her car go kaplooey, transmission stuffs and had to go to shop. She somehow scraped enough moneys to gets it fixed and then it died last weekend! Thankfully in a parking lot. Well the transmission shop picked up the car and has been working on it... We sure hope the problem is under warranty and she doesn't owe anything. She had to take a bus to works again this week and she is picking up the car later... we are crossing our paws. 

Well dat's all fur now... we hopes to tells you abouts Hickory Hollow Animal Refuge furry soon. Katie Mom am going to gets them backs up on the webs to help them gets more volunteers and funds.

Lil Bear Update

Got Lil Bear to eat a few teaspoons of Sheba mixed with Royal Canin Rx this morning. After I put several bites in his mouth, he ate a few on his own from my fingers... He talked a lot. Starting to feel better.

EMERGENCY LIL BEAR IS VERY SICK

Got back from the Vet - cost - 101.00 - Still need help to pay. Thanks for the donations so far... The vet thinks he has collitis, possibly something he got into. My brother said someone got into the beef jerky yesterday... I hope that's what caused it. No fever. no abscess teeth! He's on Metronidizole and the vet gave him sub fluids...

Just found out that My Lil Bear is very Sick and no money to take him to the vet asap. I need help to save my baby. Some of my kitties are at my brother's house, because I have rescues at mine... I check on them every afternoon... Today I found diarrhea in the litter boxes and signs of vomit in the hallway. 

Lil Bear was curled up in the computer room very lethargic. I am calling the vet to take him in - BUT NO MONEY TO PAY THE VET!!! NONE! 50.00 in the bank. My husband's social security doesn't come in until Wednesday and my care credit is maxed. Please help Lil Bear. I have saved cats lives, and spent my own money to get them fixed and find them homes, Mew Mew just found a home last week... but I can't save my baby... This is a real emergency. I have a Paypal link on the right....

Molly gotz Mastitis

Dis Update for 5:00 AM.
Mom finks her and Uncle Mike gots Molly to the vets just in times afore da Mastitis gotted real bads and kept Molly from having good milks for the kitty babies.

The vets gave her Clavamox and pain meds.  The kittens gotz some eye infections and the vet helped wipe dehr crusty eyes wif warm water. And in the light of the vets office, Mom found a few mean fleas still hiding on the kittens.

See the grey kitten? Dat am a boy. The other kittens are big girls... Him had lost some weight yesterday.  Mom found out at the vets that him couldn't go potty cause of bads green stuff dat plugged him up. So Mom wiped him wifs a warm towel and den him could go potty... But dat green stuffs made Lil Junior hurted.

Those big girls takes all da milk. Mom tried to get him to drink bottle milk, but him not like the milk too much.  After Molly had her meds, she let the babies have a meal, but Lil Junior not find a nipple wif milk in it!  After one of those big girls had some milk, Mom took the girl and held her awhile so Junior could eat.

Well this morning, Mom woked up and the babies was sleeping and stuffs. Mom fed Molly some fishy foods and then called a friend about bottle feeding Junior... Our friend takes in fosters sometimes, but she can't right now... so she told Mom how to use a syringe by going "drop, drop, drop" on the baby's tongue so him can swallow dat.  Mom has gones to store now to gets a syringe and will be back wif more updates and photos.  Later, Mom am going to try a weak solution of Dawn to get rids of the kitten's fleas...

Toby Came Home Sunday Morning

Toby Update Early Monday April 21:

Toby slept with Uncle Mike last night. Him am ate sum and drank sum water. Mom will give him sublingual pain med dose after posting.

Toby Update frum Sunday April 20:

Uncle Mike and the Mom brought Toby home around 11:30 Sunday Morning, only to have to turn around and take him back... He still had the catheter in his fore leg!! The top photo was taken the first time he came home... He had pulled off the Collar and wanted to lay on the bed.  That's when the Mom noticed the catheter.

Then back to the Emergency clinic to take the catheter out....and fix the collar back. Course Toby wasn't happy about being put back in the carrier... "Hey, I just got home! I wants to rest!"

While back at the clinic, the vet tech fixed the collar 'strings'  into a harness... He not been able to get it off again.  

Mom helped him drink water and eat with the collar on. And he was furry thirsty! Only way that us kitties get rid of anesthesia is with lots of water.

Toby am taking pain meds every 6 hours and antibiotics (Amoxicillin) twice a day.  He has to keep that collar on for 10 days at least!  Cause the bandage has to stay on a long time.

Mom reads the surgery report.  Hims third vertebra from the tip was actually dislocated. So that's why 4 vertebrae had to be removed.

Mom said the cost of emergency surgery was less than they feared, but still a whopping 500 plus greenies.... We gots all our paws crossed and purring that he heals furry good and no complications.

Short Story Fur Easter

Me tell you short story about Puzzles' Spunky "Boo" Bear. Him was borned Good Furryday, 1989 and leaped over the Rainbow Bridge 2008 at almost 20 years old.

Spunky and me gotted fings in common, likes us being handsome black kitties and how our Kitty Mommies went over the Rainbow Bridge too soon.  The Mom raised Spunky frum 3 days old with a glass eyedropper.

Mom says Boo Bear's name now means sumpin funny in England.  Did you know that long time ago,  the word spunky meant sponge and that sponge used to mean "to Redeem" something? 

Which am what happens on Easter.  Dis cute black kitten born on Good Furryday had a short nose and looked like a bear.  Him a miracle who survived when hims 2 siblings and mommy died.  That how Spunky Bear gotted hims name.

 

Dat's why him was bested cat ever and why I am named after him... 

oh and Mom painted Resurrection Morning just after the Easter weekend Spunky was borned.... painting am dedicated to him...

Updates 2:40am CST: The emergency vet called.  4 year old Cousin Toby comed out of surgery less than an hour ago and is waking up a bit, but resting.  

After fur shave, Doctor found Toby's tail was furry awful bruised from being pinched by bad screen door.  4 vertebrae were amputated which am almost 2 inches of hims tail.  Will update wif photos when Mom and Uncle Mike pick Toby up later today.  Uncle Mike and Mom may go to Easter service fur prayer.  Plz keep Toby and Uncle Mike in your purrz as Uncle Mike loses him job in June...  - Lil Bear.

Dearest Furr Friends on Internets,

Lil Bear: Earlier Saturday Afternoon about 4pm, Mom waz getting ready to do a lates Good Friday/Easter Post when Uncle Mike burst into the room.

Mom: Uncle Mike had been working on the kitchen sink and going back and forth to the garage thru the back door.  Since Uncle Mike's house sits on a corner, the back door is actually on the left side of the house and opens onto the covered patio that connects the garage to the house.  Uncle Mike had let Toby out thru the front door to get daily exercise.  Uncle Mike and I always let Toby out the front door for a good run, cause he always jumps out the door onto the concrete porch, scurries around the side of house thru the covered patio and over to the same spot to eat grass in the backyard.  But I didn't know Toby had been out until Mike came into the computer room.

Lil Bear:  I saw what happened...Uncle Mike was coming back in house and Cousin Toby runned in wif out saying nuffin.  Him usually meows so Mom or Uncle Mikes know to keep screen door open.  Screen am got spring dat make door close real fast! Mom got her foot hurted one time cause door slam shut so quick.

Uncle Mike didn't see Toby coming in til screen door closed real loud and Toby runned behind couch.  Uncle Mike tried to get Toby to come out but he ran under the recliner.  Den Uncle Mike moved the recliner and Toby ranned into da kitchen and jumped onto the window sill above the sink.

Mom: So Uncle Mike said, please come help me check Toby. He was outside and the door slammed on him. He's hiding in the kitchen window. I left the computer room and went into the kitchen.  But Toby wouldn't let me check him.  He growled and refused to leave the window.  Mike called our vet who was still open.  Since I couldn't get Toby to leave the window, I brought the carrier to him. Surprisingly, Toby crawled out of the window on his own and into the carrier. I caught a glimpse of the end of his tail and the tip was bloody.  Mike drove while I held the carrier.  Upon examination, Dr. Johnson moved the long hair away and showed us how the skin was gone from Toby's tail tip.  Unfortunately, that meant in order for Toby's tail to heal, the tip will have to be amputated.  He could do the surgery, but being so late in the day he suggested that we take Toby to the Emergency Clinic so the staff there would be able to monitor him during the night.

We left Willowbend Animal Hospital and took Toby to the Emergency Vet.  It is now midnight here in Kansas, and due to a few other emergencies, Toby has not had the surgery yet. 

Since most of you won't see this until morning... will add a post about his surgery as soon as we have that info.

Lil Bear:  Please purr fur Toby as him gets well frum surgery... Toby and hims siblings will be 4 years old in May. Mom am wondering if any bloggers has a cell phone dat we could text during an emergency so we can lets our innernets frinds know sooner to purrz and pray.  Am anyone doing a purr list likes dats or puts ups a post during mergencies???  If you knows, please leave commints and send us an email wif purrsonal stuffs to laugh_safely ats yahoo.com. 

Mom: Please keep Uncle Mike in your purrs too.  Toby is his first "cat," and Mike is feeling really sick over hurting Toby.  Mike is also losing his job in June due to company takeover by a larger corporation who is moving the whole assembly plant to Warsaw, Indiana.

Taking Angel to Emergency Vet

Taking Angel to the Emergency Vet.
She's panting and won't stop.

Thought it was the heat yesterday.  She may be in labor with an 8th kitten that didn't get born.
She's had several antibiotic dosages now.  So something is seriously wrong.

Plz Keep purring and praying.

Joey Update - Running and Jumping now.

He's still favoring his leg, but he's running and jumping around now... not as fast as he usually does though.

Thank God.  What a relief.  Will keep you posted.

EMERGENCY UPDATE - Joey just hurt himself

First two good updates:

Doobie was neutered last Thursday and is doing really well, save now I think he is constipated versus having loose stool.... working on that...

Lulu had another eye exam on Saturday:  her eye is looking really good.  She has a scar on her right eye that will make vision blurry, but thank God she didn't loose it.  Dr. Johnson said as bad as the scar was - she was on the borderline of loosing her eye. Thank you so much for your purrs and support for Lulu.

*****UPDATE: JOEY IS SLOWLY LIMPING ON HIS LEG NOW. 
Will take him to see Dr. Johnson if Joey doesn't improve.*****

EMERGENCY:
Joey hurt himself.  The kittens were in the bathroom where they stay for the night.  They hadn't been let out yet to run around in the living room... I heard a horrific yell from the bathroom.  Went in and found Joey unable to put weight on his left hind leg.  He refuses to walk on it.  I picked him up and checked his leg.  The leg moves and he doesn't cry out.  He may need X-rays.

THERE IS NO MONEY FOR THE VET.... I HAVE NO PERSONAL FUNDS UNTIL THE 24TH.

ALL CARE CREDIT FUNDS ARE GONE.
THE DEFERRED INTEREST HAS TAKEN ALL FUNDS.
ACCOUNT IS NOW OVER THE CREDIT LIMIT.
