Gordo Needs Your Help ASAP

Update: Doc decided to just do the antibiotics for now and wait on the steroid shot to see if antibiotics works. Bill was only 45.00! We got a sweet donation from a wonderful cat blogger that covered the bill so far ❤ //

Last year Gordo, one of Silvia's cats, had to have Perineal urethrostomy, the surgery that unblocks a male kitty's urinary tract by removing the urethra...







This makes him susceptible to urinary tract infections... he has also been having trouble keeping on enough weight and on the blood panel last year, his thyroid indicating level was near the border of needing thyroid meds.

On Wednesday, Silvia and I took him to the vet, because he had been howling and throwing up his food... Dr. Mahoney wanted to do the blood panel first before checking anything else. His results yesterday did not show a change in his thyroid levels, but did show signs of a urinary tract infection... KFM was able to pay for the blood panel from metal scrap and a personal donation... (came to 95.00)

Now he needs antibiotics and an anti-inflammatory shot which will be only 75.00 - Can you help Gordo get well by sparing even five or ten dollars?

If three people only sent 20.00, I can cover the rest. Once he gets his meds, he will feel like eating again... Poor boy - we love him so much.

Sammy Balloon Pilot Flies Over Kansas

After visiting Dezi and Raena in Oklahoma, 
Sammy of One Spoiled Cat Blog had time to fly over Kansas
and Stops to see us Katie Katz fur a minute.

We met at the one and only castle in Kansas - Coronado Heights near Lindsborg Kansas. 

There's a stone table inside. We all sat down and hads bacon sammiches...

We shared the story of finding Lil Bear's head at the castle a few years ago and we laughed and laughed.

Guero is doing great! but still needs purrz

THE FOLLOWING IS REAL AND URGENT AND WEZE MAD THAT SILVIA AND HER ROOM MATE GOT TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AGAIN! THE BABIES NEED FOOD AND LITTER and RENT MONEY!!!

First the good Mewz. This past week's rent was paid from the last of the auction money and two donations. Guero Is HEALED from surgery finally... no more seeping. Purray! Yet he did threw up yesterday. Vet said may be something he chewed on. She may have to take him back tomorrow... and we are out of funds (I had to pay third year taxes or lose my home), plus more bad news.

Silvia's room mate Alex just finished basement work worth 400.00 and the guy he worked for only gave him 50.00! They were depending on that money for rent. Silvia wants to find the guy and report him, but he used a false name and disappeared.
and No Rent means homeless kitties.

Due to little work available at Labormax, Silvia found a job typing up dictated briefs for a lawyer's office. She did a practice brief this week and should get paid briefs to do next week, but no possible money until April 11. Need 150.00 asap for next Tuesday.

Update 16 January 7:58pm : Guero is doing really well on the Prozasin - don't know why took so long for the vet to prescribe the meds. Holding off on the surgery until later next week to give Guero some needed rest from all the stress he has been through... -Katie.

I have so many stories to choose from of how I answered the call to help animals in need over the last 20 years, and especially for the last 10 years blogging. When I think of all the cats and dogs I have helped... didn't realize until now the changes I have made in so many lives. All I can say, is thank you God for letting me help...

Yet I think about my mistakes instead.  Ain't that human?



Right now, I'm thinking about - if I hadn't answered a Craig's List ad for Silvia needing food and litter... if i hadn't found out that she might get evicted from the motel. she and her fur babies are living in, before she could find a new job. If I hadn't started a fundraiser to keep Silvia and her fur babies from being homeless...  Where would sweet Guero be?   Sweet, sweet Guero.  I have fallen in love with Silvia's five kitties, especially Ronnie, the original spokes purrson on the You Caring Fundraiser (Guero has taken his place), who loves to jump on your shoulders. Yet Guero has taken a very special part of my heart.

I knew about Brian's Pee Wars at Brian's Home and Max Max at Noir's Nook back in 2013, yet I had not personally encountered a kitty boy who needed help for a small urethra.

And now Guero will get his life-saving surgery. I had never tried to run a fundraiser on my own before. Thank you Sherri of the Painter Pack for having the courage to start a fundraiser for yourself and your fur babies to not be homeless... You were my inspurration!

From helping Silvia and her cats not be homeless to Saving Guero's life...

The Mom gotted a text message last night from a couple in Hutchinson who has fallen in loves with me! Whoo Hoo! Her and I am waiting to finds out if they can adopt me. They has to ask their landlord first.

Oh do keeps me in your purrz thats Katie has finally found my furever home.

In other mewz. Guero am doing really well.
Katie and Silvia thinks dat canned foods from Hills prescription may be doing the goods he needs
- getting rid of the yucky crystals.

Us Katiez Katz are sure purring fur him. Silvia has been working some too. So we see how much her gets paid and then we will know what helps we needs fur dat rents.

KFM Am Changing And Urgent Guero Update

Jan 2, 10:10am Mew Guero Update -  He made it through the night. Headed to my vet for a check up ... will post more this afternoon...  -Katie

An Almost Good Update: 
Guero is relieving himself some - a small portion at a time, but not normally... and he is still in pain.  Chances are, Silvia and I will need to take him in to the ER today and no later than tonight..  Please pray and help with any donation you can give.

I will talk to Silvia about taking Guero to see our vet - who might be open tomorrow - for another opinion... but I don't know if Guero should wait that long... 

Thursday, Guero had to go into vet to have a catheter put in so he could relieve himself.. cost: 225.00 and still he is not well!  The vet at Arapaho Clinic has given Guero Convenia three times in a row - and Guero just keeps getting worse and not better... He had promised to try another antibiotic and he didn't. 

Guero's urethra is swollen and there is mucus - obviously an infection. - he cannot pass his urine in more than a small amount - too painful.. I need to get him to my vet, but I do not have much funds... I am praying that my vet is open tomorrow.

CHANGES AM COMING TO KATIEZ FURRY MEWZ BLOG!



We am now unofficially a Not for Profit Fund dat helps animals and paw families in needs.  We wanted to use Katiez Katz as our DBA.  A DBA means we will haz a dedicated Bank Account under our Doing Business As name. Howsom-ever, there is already pawsible conflict with using Katiez Katz, since there is a facebook person using that moniker already. We would have to add a word to Katiez Katz, such as Katiez Katz Foundation. 

So we will simply be DBA Katiez Furry Mewz, since we have been known by that name for 10 years and there isn't any conflicts.

Mom also has two other DBAs: The Purple Kattery Art Studio and LifeGate Enterprises. The Purple Kattery is the name we use on FaceBook, eBay, CraigsList, and online selling places. We haven't used LifeGate Enterprises in years because there was a pawsible conflict with that name.  

The Mom's dream is to found a no-kill cat sanctuary in central Kansas (outside of Sedgwick County) called The Purple Kattery or LifeGate Pet Sanctuary (LGPS), like Best Friends, with cat rooms vs cages... Mom's vision is to find a church or similar building for sale that has a kitchen and lots of rooms in the next 3 years. 

Right now Katiez Furry Mewz aids and supports Lifeline Animal Placement and Protection, a local no-kill sanctuary who have over 200 cats in their care.  We will aid LAPP first with their vision of animal protection... KFM also supports Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary
