Kody Loves Hims Mew Home

Kody Update!

We had a safe trip to Kody's mew Mommy and Daddy last Sunnyday. We met at a Petco... about an hour away from his new home. Drove two hours to get there... Kody was a sweetie. Slept most of the way in the Mom's lap. 

Not only does he have a mew name: Bagheera - he is doing great! Here is the quote from hims mew Mommy! "Sorry to worry u but he did excellent on ride home! He has settled in perfectly! He loves our daughter and she loves him. He is very cuddly and adapted already!! My husband and him are best friends" 

More Mewz and pics furry soon... The Mom haz to gets a mew card reader fur her flashy box.

Plz keep our Nana in your purrz...her is having cataract surgery tomorrow....

Homes are Furry Thankful Things

Hi there! dat's me again... Kody.  yeah Mom changed the spelling on my name cause Kodiak bears start with K... and she found something called a coke dat said share with Kody, but I can't drink dats so she drank it for me.  At least that's what she told me.


Well The Mom Lady, aka TML has some things to be furry thankful for since Father's Day last month.  

TML says thats lots of folks sent green papers and because of all that green stuffs, 3 lady cats gotted their shots and lady opurrayshuns. 

Mama Mew, My siblings and me gotted well from bad kitty colds and we gotted all our shots.  Dat 4 cat ladies and 5 kittens gotted helps... 

And The Mom Lady gotted flea meds, foods and litter for all of the kitties dat her helps... at 3 different homes - Uncle Mike, Nana's house and the Mom's house. 

Me am also thankful my sisfur Princess gotted a forever home last week. (The Mom Lady makes Bless My Pet flyers for forever moms and dads.)  My Sisfur Tiger Lily may go home on Sunnyday, and tomorrow, us boys are going to visit a home of nice lady looking for kitty boy!  I sure hopes she picks me, but if she picks Thoughtful Teddy or I love foods Dandy, that's okay too.

Thankful Thursday - We am Betters!

Hello?  My name am Kody.  I am 10 weeks old.

I was furry sick, and I thoughts the big funny being was trying to kills me... dat stuffs tasted terrible!  Furst my nose and eyes are all yucky and I cant breath and eats and dis lady gives me yuckies!  I fought and fought - I dont wants to die!

Den I gotted reely tired and gave in... and tooks the yucky stuffs and then the lady she did something really weired... she made me drink waters from a tube and puts foods in my mouth!  why she do that if she trying to kills me???  and then she loved me! she held me and tried to purr - well she still not my Mama... but waits she blink eyed and something about dat holding reminding me of Mama... okay maybe she not trying to kills me.  And then she puts me back in this big box with a wired door - I think it am a carrier.  And I was so tireds I went to sleeps awhile.

When she comed back like a gazillion hours later, I was reelly hungry.  Where she go???  I told her offs for leaving me.  Well she put some yummy meats dats comes in a little glass jar (Beachnut baby food) on a paper plate and lets me out of the box... well I just hads to eat!  I claimed dat plate and nommed all the foods.  And then she puts stuffs in my eye... oh well. I guess Mom's sometimes has to do stuffs we don't likes, but somehow I was starting to feels better! That was like Caturday.   Here am a photo of me from Sunnyday

See that red eye? Well my eye not red no more!  And Tiger had a swollen eye too and Princess had yucky eyes... Guess what??  We dont gots dat no more!  

After being a good boy and taking all my yucky stuffs this weeks, I am much better and no more yucky eye! My sisfurs Tiger Lily and Princess are betters too!


Well I want to go play now... Thanks for all the purrz and for what the Lady says am green stuffs dat help her hunt for foods and meds for us...

My sisfurs Princess and Tiger have homes waiting for them. I hopes I find my forever Mom furry soon cause I am so glad to be a good kitty! Dandy and Teddy need forever homes too. 

One of us boys may has a home with an older lady who lives in an "assisted living facility" I dont know what dat is, but sound like where they help you be good like The Lady helped me get wells.

The Lady said we am getting vakynation shots on Saturday... Hope dat aint more yucky meds.
But I likes the Vets room. That will be fun to run around there again.

Please keep us all in your purrz..Mama Mew gotted sick too and had to take meds. She am feeling betters.

Emergency Kitten Update - Kody is still furry sick

Update on Kitties:
Yesterday afternoon, I came back from errands which included getting Echinacea and Goldenseal to make a tea for the kittens and Mama Mew only to find Mew Mew in breathing distress... I made a weak tea and gave her a small amount.... in a few minutes she could breathe better!  She got up off the floor and looked out the window... and then she ate. 


Although Princess and Tiger are doing some better (Tiger's one eye is still swollen), Kody is not doing very well at all. He's all congested and having trouble breathing and he has a fever. He's refusing to eat and fighting all his meds...

This morning, I had to force feed Kody some water. I gave him a sml amount of echinacea/goldenseal tea along with his antibiotics this morning. Will be giving him 1mg Chlortab. He truly needs extra prayers right now... 

Thank you to all who have donated money, because I may have to take him to the Emergency Vet today.

Emergency Kitten Update

I am devastated right now.... three of my kittens have red swollen eyes from URI. Showed up yesterday evening.  Both girls and one of the boys.  Taking them back to the vet today and really don't have funds... money I have right now is supposed to go for Molly and Ellie Mays spay on Monday.

This is the same type of URI that almost lost Lulu and Joey's eyes two years ago.  The girls have homes and now they have to wait.

Tiger's eyes are red too

Last Monday, Teddy Bear was sneezing and had congestion.  A couple of the kittens were sneezing.  So off to the vets with Mom and everyone... Teddy started on antibiotics and Chlortabs.  Wednesday two kitties had goopy eyes so started on antibiotics too.

Yesterday morning, I gave Teddy who had congestion and the two kittens with goopy eyes a dose of antibiotics. Teddy was sounding much better.

Yesterday at 1, I had an echo-cardiogram to check my mitral valve.  Did errands for mom and spent time with mom (who may needs to go in to the doc herself) until late evening only to have my brother (Mike) call after he checked on the kittens. He said that 3 now had swollen red eyes...

We isolated three from the others, but couldn't find the tube of eye medicine I had from last year with Molly's kittens having goopy eyes. I was in tears last night when I saw how bad their eyes were and I didn't have money to take them to the emergency vet.

Late Last night, I rinsed their eyes with vetericyn which helped a little bit.  But their eyes are worse this morning. I'm taking them to the vet today. This is the type of Upper Respiratory that nearly lost Lulu's eye two years ago. (Usually one of the causes is herpes.)

But all the money I have really right now is for Molly and Ellie May to get spayed on Monday.

Taking kittens to the vet asap and pray that funds come in this weekend or will have to postpone Molly's spay. I may still be able to get Ellie spayed. Ellie is just miserable and hardly eating.

The two girl kittens have homes waiting for them. One of the boys may have a home, but they have to get over this awful URI first. One of the families knows.

At least Teddy is sounding way better this morning and doesn't have swollen eyes. Mama Mew is sneezing but no other symptoms. I gave her a chlortab a while ago.

Happy 6 weeks old Birthday Kittens!

Kittens at 4 weeks

Mew Mew and the kittens went to the Vet on Saturday.  Mew Mew had been throwing up her food last weekend... and she had gotten really skinny.  She slowly gained her weight back when I took her off of anything with milk in it, including the kitten replacement and Fancy Feast kitten.  I dud give her and the kittens a different brand of kitten milk that was lower in lactose. 
 
Last Thursday she started throwing up again... So off the vets Saturday.  Dr. Johnson and I think it was still Milk products, so no milk products at all!  He gave her Royal Canin high fiber and she ate it all weekend and no throwing up!  Hooray!  But Kody (aka Cody), threw up several times Sunday, yet he kept Mama's milk down just fine.  Today no throwing up for Kody either...I took the kids of off Milk related foods too, so hopefully Kody will be better now.  Please keep Kody in your purrz.

Mew Mews Kittens are turning 6 weeks old today!  They will be ready for furever homes by sometime in June!

Mew Mew showed up the weekend after my friend Annette Hedke died on my Birthday, Thursday, February 5.

Sunday morning, I had a dream, where I was telling Annette, "No, I can't. Please stop asking me."  I woke up and thought, that's crazy, why would I say I can't to something, when with God all things are possible?  Then I got some food for J J, the kitty girl who stops by to eat on the porch.  Instead of J.J., there was a really friendly black cat on my brother's breezeway porch... Oh no, a new kitty.  When I put food down, she jumped on my shoulders as if to say, I need your help.

But we didn't have room for another cat - I prayed, and I heard God whisper, "I have provided a place for them..."  I knew he meant all the cats in my care... and now he must mean this little black cat as well.  I brought her in and kept her in the small bathroom.  Good thing, because we had a snow storm after Sunday.

Now, I know that God had to also mean Mew Mew's kittens - he has a place prepared for them.

Please Share and Purr.  Pray that God will guide me in His will for finding the forever homes that He has provided for them, that I will be able to discern where each kitten should go.

It's Official!  The boyz names are (drum roll)..... Kody (aka Cody), Teddy Bear and Dandy (thx Dezi!)

Don't quite rhyme yet similar sounding. Those cute boys all look like little bears
so Treble and Bass are now Teddy Bear and Kody Bear

Kodiak and Teddy are kinds of bears.  And Dandy is going to be a dandy looking long haired boy with a white bow tie...

Wittle Bitty Kitty Selfie

Awww.... Lil Princess showing her tummy and all her baby siblings at the vet last week. 

Mew Mew had just cleaned her tummy.

Dr. Johnson did a wellness exam on Mama and the kittens.  Everyone seems to be doing really well!  They all weighed in between 10 and 11 oz! 
 
Which means that baby number Five - that's Tiger on the right - gained almost two ounces!

All growing at a good pace.  The boys kind of have temp names.
Dezi of Dezi's World likes Dandy and I like Cody - so the one kitty boy with a little white on his chest is Dandy Cody -  The other two boys are Treble and Bass ("base") - cause they like to mew a lot.
Maybe they will start a music group!?!  Dandy Cody and the Boyz!

Dezi's idea was to name all the kitties with rhyming names - like Dandy and Kandy and Mandy and stuffs... if their names rhymed, when they get older, they may all hear "andy" part and come running the same time... that would be funny.   I had a kitty named Sandy Red Tigger and when I wanted him, I called, "Sandy Dandy Andy Wandy"  and he would come running to see if I had a yummy for him.

Well the boys names are still temporary... The name Treble happened when I gave the vet assistant the biggest baby boy and said, here's trouble.  She wrote that down as his name, and I said, "no, don't name him Trouble.  How About Treble?" and then she had the idea that Baby Boy 3 could be Bass ("Base").

Treble is the biggest boy and Bass is a little smaller.  They are growing really fast.  Maybe when they are a bit bigger, their purrsonalities will show more.

Think they may be small babies like Mama Mew Mew...  

One thing for sure, Princess is going to have longer hair, Tiger may get longer hair and maybe at least one boy might have long hair too.

Mew Mew Mama Baby Photos

Three of the kittens turned 2 weeks old Monday night. 

Two little boys look a lot alike and have calmer personalities. The third baby boy is very demanding. When I pick him up, he demands to be back with Mommy!  So far Baby Two and 2 of the boys seem to have Persian like faces and may be long haired... time will tell.

Baby Five will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday.  On Sunday, the babies weighed 8.8 oz (Baby Girl Five), 9.8 oz (Bossy Baby Boy Four), 10oz (Baby Boy Three),  and 10.2 oz (Baby Girl Two and Baby Boy One).

Hope to have some better photos soon... The boys are mostly black and the girls are tortoise shell.  Two of the boys have fuzzier hair and short noses.  One of the boys has a white triangle on his chest.  Two of the boys have greyish legs.  Any name suggestions?  -Purrz from Katie Kat.
