Hi ya kitty cat frinds!

-Purrz from Lulu and Annie May.

Now fur a furry short other mewz update.

Debra was able to get half the bill to start cremation fur her sweetie. We helped some with that... now to make payments on the rest which is about 80 dollars.

Silvia's girls, Natasha and Mama Narcisca saw the vet but he didn't do bloodwork yet. He suggested that they might have fatty liver syndrome and to eat one meal a day and wait for them to feel like eating... Silvia tried this but didn't help.

They still don't have appetites and throwing up when they do eat. (FLS requires blood work to confirm the lack of not doing blood work is very confusing.)
Please keep them in your purrs.

If you would like to help with these kitties, please paypal gift to friends of any amount to laugh_safely at yahoo dot com

Words On Wednesday Bibi Emergency and Happy Selfie

BiBi at the Vets on Saturday
Missed everyone for Selfie Sunday. Some Good Mewz!
Nana (my mom) is doing better from her cold. My broken toe seems to be healing well, but still wearing hard soled open shoe and toes taped up. Will be going back to my clinic for another xray, which is free! Via Christi cut my bill in half from the ER visit, but still over $500. Will be contacting them today to get financial assistance...

Nana's Bibi went to the Emergency Vet Saturday. Anal gland had ruptured. She got a Convenia shot and is taking pain meds while the gland heals. $252.00. Thank goodness hubby sent birthday money (Birthday is tomorrow) - helped about half of cost. No money to take her for followup to Vets. Thank goodness convenia shot and pain meds seem to be working!

A Happy Ellie Selfie
"Happy" actually likes names that sound like her Mom's name, which is Molly. So been calling her Ellie May lately, as in the Clampetts Ellie May from "Beverly Hillbillies" TV series.

Getting some calls about adopting Ellie May, but Molly and Ellie need to be together.

And to make matters more complex, Happy Ellie is showing signs of a sensitive stomach: she bristles after eating and tightens her abdomen. She even had a mild reaction to having Revolution drops back in December where she almost threw up. Will start her and Molly on a Corn-free food, but I don't know of a dry kitten corn free food, so will have to use an adult food mixed with corn free canned kitten food, like Iams.

Hope a change of diet is all she needs, but she will also needs a cbc - blood work to check for signs of inflammation before she gets spayed. Will be calling our vet in the morning to find out the price for that. He does offer discounts. His spay prices are very high because he uses same monitoring equipment used for humans.

Yet Ellie May needs to be monitored more closely due to her odd reactions to chemicals. The cheapest place I would consider (Cat Hospital of Wichita) costs 80.00, not counting her shots, office visit, etc.

Ellie is one of five cats that need spayed. The other four are Ellie's mom Molly, Angel (a cat pulled from same home as Molly and her kittens), Annie May and Lulu. Annie May and Lulu had upper respiratories as kittens and should be more monitored during the spay process, which leaves out using the low cost clinics who do not use monitoring equipment. I keep trying to save up money for spaying, and then another emergency, kitty or human related occurs and uses up funds saved. (I'm still waiting to get new glasses after my retinal reattachment surgery on my left eye from two years ago.) All my boys are neutered.

If you haven't checked this furry mewz yet....Trucker is a furry miracle!

Sunday Mewz with Oreo Where Happy's Home?

From left to Right, Annie May, Doobie Davey, Lulu and Oreo
Hi Ya. Oreo Selfie and friends. Lulu (Calico), Doobie Davey (Tabby) and Annie May (Tortie on the Left). I loves my home buddies so just couldn't leave them out of the photo.

Mom hasn't given any updates since Mew Year's. She's just stares at the blog like that will tell you how we are all doing. She asked if I would meow stuff, to break writer's mental ice block... whatever that means.

Mom told me every time she starts to blog - she's just too tired and worn out. I would be too, if I had to hobble around outside in the cold all over town looking after all the kitties in three homes. Instead, I get to relax with my buddies on Uncle Mike's bed. So I promised to help Mom out cause I'm not tired.

First of all, I don't drive and secondly, I don't have a broken toe on my right foot like Mom does.

Although Mom stepped on my tail today. She didn't mean to though.

I was quietly sitting in the kitchen by Mom's left, waiting for awesome chicken she was deboning for stew. Mom stepped back and tried to get off my tail too fast and put weight on her broken toe.

She screamed in pain and I went running under Uncle Mike's bed.  Mom hobbled through the living room to find me... She sat down on the bathroom stool until I finally let her pick me up and check my tail.... See Mom, you didn't hurt me...  I'm okay.  Please put me down now and quit checking my tail.

Sorry Mom that I forgot you couldn't see me cause you need new glasses. I forgot you're nearly blind in your left eye... I promise to meow next time or jump on sink ledge like I usually do.

**MOM'S TOE**

About Mom's toe, though.... the human doctors used x-ray vision and found out the bone fracture is aligned and healing. They check again in a few weeks. But she still hobbles around in this really strange shoe, kind of like Frankenstein or something.

In OTHER MEWZ - Uncle Mike's Mew Job will start the first of February! Finally he can work in daytime instead of night stocking shelves for Wally Mart. But next 2 weeks he only haz part time hours at Wally Mart.  Uncle Mike am having trouble paying bills. Mom am eating less and stuff so we can have foods and litter.

And now I has question... Mom am really sad that Happy and her Mom, Molly have not found their forever homes yet. AFTER 5 MONTHS! They are staying at Mom's house, along with another kitty named Angel who needs a forever home too. Mom said we'll talk about Angel next time.

How come folks keep calling and saying that Happy am too old??? She am only 5 months and small and cute and sweet and pretty and I LIKE GIRLS!!!

How come nobody likes Happy?  I likes girls, but I can't adopt her. Mom says we has too many kitties at Uncle Mike's already...

And how come nobody wants Molly? She am funny.

(And how come skunks smell up Uncle Mike's yard?

Mom has to go spray the window with citrus stuff again.)

And a furry pawsome guy who loves his kitties could use some help, too.
We promised to share his Go Fund Me account here. https://www.gofundme.com/Helpcats
(Update 2023: Link Not Avaliaible)

He forgot to use paragraphs. Here's what he says about his rescued kitties:

"My Cats Are My Best Friends...Other Animal Lovers Can Relate! Losing A Buddy Is Like Losing A Family Member! I Have My Last Buddy Lightning Left and I Thank The Lord I Still Have Him."

Well Mom, I hope that helps you gets out of your writer's ice block and write some more tomorrow... there's so much to share and I just talked some bout that.

Purrz and Prayerz for a blessed Sunny day,

Oreo and Katie Kat.

Mollys Kittens from Friday Oct 3

Growing and growing....
Just last Friday the 10th, the Little Boy (grey tabby) finally graduated from lapping kitten replacement to crunching Purina Kitten Chow. One of his big sisters likes canned Kitten Fancy Feast, while the other two prefer crunchy kitten food!

Will show more photos "furry" soon.

Sincerest apologies for posting there would be more kitten photos to see on Saturday, October 4th and then no post on October 4th!

To make a long story short, my mother (sometimes mentioned as Nana or Granmawmee) had a brain tumour removed more than ten years ago. She is experiencing similar headaches and extreme mental tiredness. She has not been physically well lately either.  Please pray that the tumour has not returned and for her overall health.

=^..^= =^..^= =^..^= =^..^=

Katiez Furry Mewz will be under remodeling...
When we return, there will be
page tabs about all the kits and more furry stuff.

Sunday Catch Up and More Kittens!

Hiya Folks!
Katie Kat here... Been awfully busy keeping up with all the needs for my furry kids.

OREO AND ANNIE WENT TO VETS
Above is a photo of Oreo and Annie who went to the vets a couple weeks ago. Annie was eating poorly, hiding and losing weight. I could get her to eat some if she was in a room by herself, but not enough.  Took Oreo in at the same time: calmed Annie down during the ride there, and he needed his breathing checked and distemper vaccination, any way.

Annie and Oreo were so funny on the ride to the vets - they kept complaining in unison from their mutual carriers, which was way better than Annie freaking out when I first put her in the car.  They both knew the other was there and seemed like mutual misery was better than panic-ville.

Turned out Annie needed worm meds and she got her bloodwork done for when I have the funds to get her spayed.  Lulu and Laura still need their pre-spay bloodwork done.  Oreo keeps making funny grunting sounds instead of purring and sometimes he sounds like his nose is clogged up. But of course Oreo sounded just fine for the vet, so still don't know what is causing his odd respiratory sounds. He did get his distemper shot at least.

I put Annie and Oreo together in one carrier for the ride home and used some Feliway.  Oreo would ask are we home yet every five minutes, but Annie just snuggled into Oreo and was furry quiet.  Annie is doing so much better, but still have to separate her out from the rest of the furry children to make sure she gets enough to eat.  Annie is a furry shy girl. Once Annie has her furever home, she will gets lots more attention vs feeling like she is at the bottom of the totem pole and will be able to blossom. I'm hoping to find a home for Lulu and Annie together.

PROJECT NEIGHBOR KITTY - PATIO FEEDING

Here is one of the kitties that stops by to feed from the community food bowl on the patio... She had kittens recently and will let me pick her up.  She's very funny - growls one minute and loves on me the next.  Have not found where her kittens are, but she's not having any trouble keeping enough milk for them.   Another cat her same age, who looks like Joey only smaller comes by every day too.  Both may actually be offspring from Annie and sibling's Mom, Hubie.  Last year, after I brought Annie in, the last kitten to get in the house, Mom Hubie took off, with "Dad" chasing her. and I couldn't catch her.  She didn't show back up at the patio until last April and I haven't seen her since.

MISSING FRANKIE
And then there is my sweet outdoor Frankie, Lil Bear's half-brother and possibly his Daddy as well.  After Lil Bear's Mother died last year, Frankie started hanging around the patio, even stayed on a blankie last winter to keep warm.  He's an older boy whose health has slowly decreased over the last year.. I haven't seen him in over a week and I am worried that he passed away and I may never find him.

KATIEZ NEW ARRIVALS
And now to make matters more challenging ... two new kitty girls from my mother's neighbor, one has 4 - 2 week old kittens. Neighbor couldn't keep them due to her kid's allergies.  Picked them up on Friday. The mama cat is Molly and the other kitty girl's name is Angel.  Molly's kitten's had tons of fleas on them Thursday, but they were all gone on Friday! Was told that the cat friendly dog may have cleaned them off! Molly is such a skinny petite little thing, trying to feed four growing babies.  She barely can make enough milk for them at a time. Had to clean kittens eyes due to mild infection. Thank goodness fleas were gone when I picked them up... Apparently one of my neighbor's dogs likes to mother kittens and may have cleaned them all!

Angel was left at my mother's neighbor by a room-mate.  Was only going to pick up Molly on Friday and Angel later, but Angel was being left in the basement. Checked on her and she had no food or water. She was so glad to see me, that I had to take her with me, even though I really have no place for her to go. Just weekend,  Angel had barged into my mother's house and headed straight for the kitten chow bag. The little girl jumped into the bag and gobbled down tons of food. I placed her out on Mom's porch with a whole plateful of kitten chow. Thought she might be pregnant... thank goodness she isn't.

To make things more challenging, I'm having trouble figuring out what Molly can or will eat.  She doesn't seem to like anything with milk in it - leaving kitten chow, kitten formulas out.  She drank some milk replacement once, but not interested anymore and doesn't like kitten chow.  Last night she gobbled up fishy flavored canned food - so will keep trying to get her to eat... Not looking forward to bottle feeding the babies, but may have to. At least they are not new-born... the larger they get, the easier I can help supplement the feedings with a bottle.

The two girls and kittens are staying at a house I need to sell - previous owner put in mineral ceiling tile meant for a larger structure almost through the whole little house.  The tile sheds fine dust which can aggravate my asthma and almost always makes me hoarse.  I can't stay in the house for long.  Not the best place for the kitties either, but no other place for them to go.

Well, have to go feed all my kitty kids, especially the newcomers.
More kitty updates furry soon....

Please keep Molly and Angel in your purrz.
Please Repost, Twitter, FaceBook etc about Molly and Angel.

New on my wish list.  Funds for Molly and Angel's Spays.  Food and homes for Molly, Angel and kittens.

Funds for Flea meds.  At least my 3 kids staying with Nana (Katie Too, Max and Bootsie) have been treated once.  One time treatment for the rest of the gang using Advantage (that's 16 kids including Molly and Angel) would be about $$200.00.  That's about 6 large kitties and ten small/medium kitties, by buying 2 six packs and 1 four pack.

Been combing them off, but poor long haired Toby who had part of his tail amputated - those mean things are camping at the bottom of his tail!

And everyone is due for their yearly shots, except for Oreo!
